Money can buy opportunities to make yourself happy.

This is settled science, many studies about it. Money does lead to increased happiness, but only up to a certain point due to diminishing returns. IIRC it was around $200-300k income a year that it really didn't matter with any further increase.

These are old statistics, Do you think that billionaires are not happier than most people?

people telling you it doesn't have a vested interest in keeping you poor

I'm sure a lot of wealthy people downplay the truth to avoid excessive attention too

Money might not be able to buy happiness, but I know being broke gives you misery.

money can't buy a high quality product or a reliable trustworthy service.. there's actually no point in being rich in the US today.. because there is nothing to buy that isn't adulterated, skimmed, or just plain cheaply made.. we'd like to think that money could buy, or at least catch the attention of someone, who might make you a good product, or offer a reliable service.. but sadly that is not true.. the richer you get, the more money you spend, and the more you realize how bad you're being ripped off at every turn, and how hard you're going to have to work to protect your money, protect your assets, and protect your sanity from this sick demented world.. something as simple as a haircut, will take weeks, months, or even years, until you find somebody you can depend on.. this is true today in virtually all facets of life

no, but money can solve problems. too much money creates problems. happiness is not well correlated to this. when happiness goes together with money it's because people are satisfied that they are achieving and productive, and money is a side effect. if you wouldn't do what you do all day without the money, you're probably not that happy about doing it.
