Only if you sell race to the bottom saturated goyslop.

If you sell something everyone has the same easy idea to sell it should come no surprise your margins vanish, other noobs get flighty and unload at a loss you cant match, or you have mega competition so have to accept 3% margins. Its low to no barrier of entry.

If you are a small individual seller it is no different from any small business. You need a niche. I never promote unless im trying to anchor people into a higher price on another copy. I sell my stuff with 250-500% margins. The trade off is lower volume, but if you have a few products its fine. Its just an easy side income of like $15k-20k. It will naturally have scamming issues that involve more work and less margins for more volume which i dont want.

Sometimes i get popular items and my god its fucking horrific. I had a few N64 Expansion Packs a while ago and it is just a fucking rocket ship to the bottom.

I meant scaling issues.

However on the subject i never get scammed in 15 years. Good photos, clearly show defects. Accept a loss to a retard postie every few years.

Recently bought struts on eBay for my 250k mile Hyundai , I’m sure they’re Chinese but they do their job and since it’s a beater I don’t really care much.

the 13% seller cost is pretty crazy.

the fee makes no difference if you sell expensive or low priced items.

You sell 100 low priced items for $11, and make $6 after fees and shipping.
or you sell 10 items for $110, and make $90 after shipping and fees.

the second option is exponentially less work, even assuming margin is exactly the same on both. that is why as a causal side business, i dont sell cheap items. it makes more work for the same money. i prefer low volume higher price items.

What you said makes absolutely no sense relative to what im saying.

Why exactly does high value = heavy in your brain?

5lbs is over 2KG. what the hell mate. i dont think i have ever sold anything more than 400 grams even though i only sell higher priced lower volume goods.

How does low margins high volume work better?
you have to send 10x the packages, make 10x the postage labels, 10x the packaging, 10x the listings, 10x the work basically. for the same money.

especially in the EU as a business seller, they add VAT on top of the fee instead of including the VAT within the fee like normal with private accounts. there's very little incentive to be honest and declare that you're selling as a business except in germany they limit private accounts to 9 items within a fixed price listing.
