Op imma spoonfeed you once. Presales work like this: The money raised is locked in the liquidity pool, and the project owner gets back the rest, which is usually around 10-40%. That means that the starting point, the point that can not get lower -if forces were rational- is the liquidity pool creation price. And that pool contain all the presale money + 20-30% of total tokens. During presale 60-70% of available tokens are sold, but the money is then put as a liquidity for only 20-30%, that's at least a 100% bonus or an x2 out of the bat, without even bothering with waiting for demand. And when people know about the newly launched token, there will be FOMO and we are talking about a 10x 30x easy.
That is, in theory how they're supposed to work. It's basically to make the launch even more spectacular and attract potential buyers

Biggest risk on a presale is probably legitimacy.
It's the early funding round. Look into investing and funding rounds and it'll make more sense except that its literally called trollface.

95% of presales are scams where the devs run away with the money. Often times they pretend they filled up with the quota and then don't ever launch. Or they launch to get that extra dosh and then dump massively on you.
