So how does the average worker even afford to live and work in these cities? There's only so many wall street bankers/tech workers in those cities to support it

They don't own homes.

Complete elimination of the middle class. Upper class (lawyers, doctors, tech) own homes. The rest are rented by entire families of brownoids who all live together in one unit pooling their minimum wage barely scraping by.

Average workers are being replaced by third world immigrants who will accept lower living standards

Homes aren't meant for an "average worker". They are meant for married families, the majority with dual incomes. An average worker on a single income can buy a condo or rent an apartment.

People are willing to make sacrifices (be "house poor") to live in places with amenities and entertainment, especially places where the weather is great all year.

Think it's metro & surrounding areas

I don't get it either. Take NYC for example, all I hear is constant bitching about how expensive it is, how it's unsustainable, rent keeps going up, etc, and yet hundreds of thousands of people manage it. how expensive can it really be if there are 8 million fucking people there, they're all managing to make rent and pay for food etc.

Remote work showed that those workers aren't in debt

I live in az median is 35k where I live, household is 60k, I alone make 100k (85k job and 15k side hustle), and my wife makes 60k. We can barely afford to buy a new home, we currently live with her mom.

I have no idea how people manage without being in debt constantly. We’re debt free thank god but otherwise it fucking sucks.
