Your perspective on trading is off and will inevitably lose money. When SOXX closed under the 200 day moving average I sold SOXL. That concluded the trade and it was profitable double digit percentages. Realized gains. Now a new entry has been signaled thus a new trade is entered. It either wins or it loses. In the long term the winners will outnumber the losers and I am profitable. Each trade is a discrete unit separate from every other trade. The entry and exit prices are only relevant for a single trade, I.e. the one you're currently in. The day will come again when SOXL will enter another -95% drawdown. I will not be in SOXL when that happens. The day will come when SOXL moons 500%. I will be there for those gains. That's the point of the strategy

It already did this, and leveraged rotation got a 15% gain out of it, over a similar timeframe that SPY is up 20%. This is before tax impact - which an S&P holder hardly pays.
If your only benefit is that you think the gains are guaranteed to outweigh the losses over time, even t-bills can accomplish that.

I'm laughing at you because you simultaneously believe the efficient market hypothesis, while also miraculously believing that you personally have stumbled upon this spectacularly unbeatable strategy.
The ultimate irony is that your very own existence is a direct disproof of efficient markets.

Imagine being Caroline and never being able to have anything but anal sex? Every single time you went to bed with some stud they'd instantly pounce on your little anus licking and prodding it before lubing up and jamming it into your starfish. You'd constantly try to egg them into giving your snatch a try to no avail; every man's heard of your legendary butthole and wants a piece of it, for all they care you might as well have a fat cock resting under it and it wouldn't amount to a hill of beans to these anal-obsessed wierdos. Eventually your ass would begin to loosen from being rammed so hard so many times by thick cocks that you'd barely even have to push to release stool, and one day you realize to your horror that you've pinched a loaf right in public without even realizing it. You'd have to resort to wearing a buttplug everywhere you went just to keep errant turds from flying out your loose sphincter. People would start to notice how you walk funny, and seem to prefer one leg. Rumours start to spread about how your ass has been so worn out your whole rectum has prolapsed and droops down to your knees and you need an attendant to shove it all back in again before a performance. People say that you needed to be admitted to the hospital once after your rectal entrails can out in the middle of the night and almost strangled you in your sleep. People are beginning to interpret all the lyrics of your songs as metaphors for your anus-related grievances. People are counting down the days until you come of age and drop out of the idol scene to become a JAV star that specializes in rosebud scenes where horny fans of yours line up to take a nice whiff of precious Caroline's inside-out baked Alaska.

No, this is my point. Despite California being expensive, I N Out burgers are still very cheap, literally cheaper than McDonalds burgers (excluding the value menu McDouble).

In N Out burgers I think are just $3.45 right now I think
>>56549254
I hear Whataburger burgers are too thick and don't get a good maillard surface on the patties like In N Out thinner burgers do. That also plays into the cost probably, In N Out patties are not as thick as other places.

However, In N Out still mogs you for value because they give you double/triple patties while still all being under $6.

Pretty much true. In the end, the market is a hedge against inflation. Just to get back to a baseline of wealth, highs will have to at least double. Wages will never follow suit tho. So really inflation is closer to 5-6% imo. 2000-2020 they say it was 2% but they just artificially kept crude down and other commodities and changed metrics like they are doing now. Assets don’t run up because they become more valuable really, it’s just the govt prints more dollars. That’s literally the game. Tqqq is like saying I wanna 3x the money printers because ya know, they’re prbly gonna print. They’ve done this before. Paid for wars with inflated dollars. It’s happening again. God bless America. I listened very carefully to what he said Wednesday. He mentioned sustained tight financial conditions. In the next breath he defined that phrase and in part said it includes "lower equity prices". Connect the dots and he wants to see sustained lower equity prices. If everything moves perfectly from this point forward and inflation continues to fall to the 2% range between now and the end of 2024 then he won't feel it necessary to push equities down. However if that drop in inflation is interrupted in any significant way he absolutely will drop the hammer down. Lower long term rates, a softening dollar, tighter labor markets, equities shooting to the moon are the 4 things that will prompt him into action. >equities hedge against inflation though
I tend to agree, although it's not entirely true. When real rates are negative, companies get free leverage to outperform.
Demographics also play a factor. Rising population is bullish because most people work at established companies, and do business/purchase from them as well. Aging population means more spending on goods and less saving, pressuring lower asset multiples.

With TIPs at 2% real yield, and longer duration treasuries closer to 4-5%, inflation expectations are currently only around 2.5%. If we actually see an average of 4% inflation over the coming decades, the long term pain for bond holders is just beginning.
Luckily this also likely means that the borrowing cost for companies, while theoretically a "real" expense, may actually provide another tailwind - as long as they don't choose floating rate debt.

One thing that can be said with near-certainty is that stocks will continue outperforming bonds. Unless you have some short term fixed-spending needs, stocks continue to be the only real game in town.

That's dramatically less important than a 40+ year regime of falling rates which allow for perpetual refinancing. The fact that rates have gone up at all make refinancing impossible, even when they paused in 2019 at 2.5% it caused significant problems that were conveniently covered up by a crisis

There's also the fact that consistently rising equities signals looser financial conditions. This is the opposite of what JPow wants and he explicitly said precisely that. What JPow wants and what mumus want are at odds. Who do you think will win?

You are being seriously stupid with the word "perfectly" as if we are on some tight rope. The general trend is for things to improve. Nothing is happening that is suddenly going to reverse trends. You can say Black swan all you want but it's no where near as likely as you think.

>>He said shit looks better than he anticipated growth wise.
>Very indicative of a policy change (end of QT, return to QE, rate cuts), indeed.
>Are we in upside down clown world?
JPow said Wednesday that one of the biggest risks with any pivot including slowing QT or cutting interest rates is that financial conditions will immediately revert such that inflation comes roaring back. He's saying that he's worried that the economy is just reacting to what he's doing and that's not what he wants. He said he wants sustained tightness. Higher long term rates, higher unemployment, lower inflation, and lower equity prices. There is no way on God's green earth that he restarts QE or lowers interest rates anytime in the next 12-18 months. No possible way based on what he's saying. If he does he loses the inflation fight and loses all credibility. NOT GONNA HAPPEN

JPow made a good point about that on Wednesday. Inflation fell very quickly from 9% but the lower it falls the slower it falls. Inflation will be above the 2% target for quite a while. The entire time it is above that target it will affect the economy negatively

I don't think that the FED will change policy before the 2030s.
However, the markets behave as if it's going to happen

Over half of a 92 day long, -11% retracement period in the SPX had been CUT IN HALF within 7 days.

Bruh the market is trading 0dte. He said no rate hikes for now. He said at beginning of year he wouldn’t cut thru 2023. No one who’s intelligent thinks he’s going to cut. Business loan interest rates are over 9%. Some people might still be operating on cheaper credit or flush with cash. Still waiting to see how his policy affect the market. But right now HE SAID IT LOOKS FINE AND NO NEED TO HIKE YOU DENSE MUTHERFUCKER

AND BY THE WAY WE HAVE BEEN GAPPING UP. HOW FUCKING RETARDED ARE YOU TO SAY HE WAS BEARISH AND THE MARKET IS SAYING THE EXACT OPPOSITE. FUCKING CHRIST YOU CHUD

We are walking a tight rope though. The loosening of financial conditions necessary for equities to continue to rise are at odds with the tightening of financial conditions necessary for JPow to keep his finger off the fuck your calls button. That's the tightrope and we're absolutely on it. It can't be both ways

Dude, the other poster I responded to mentioned the bond market is already pricing in a cut for June. The market is hearing one thing from JPow and acting like they are hearing something else. He says "sustained tight financial conditions" and they hear "pivoot" and "rate cuts". NO. NO no no. He wants to see tighter. Things are not tight when equities are rising. Expect to lose money

I trade a system that wins more than it loses so I either take profit at 50% or stop out at -50%. It's a 1:1 risk/reward so the high percentage wins make it profitable in the long run. I'd suggest systematizing your trades in a way that you don't have to question whether it's time to cover or not. You just follow the system and make money

Thanks, that's great advice. Been getting better at taking the emotion out of trading, but being time-crunched at a very unpredictable job makes it hard to let trades play out without worry. I'll have to get better, thanks anon.
