I work in the cleared fed gov world and trust me these companies aren’t the great jobs you think they are. Go find a small to medium size company with a contract that interests you, there’s tons of them. Your coworkers will be better, the work will be fun, the company won’t drain your souls and if you’re really good there very little chance you get laid off.

The larger companies probably passed you over for an affirmative action candidate or a woman. A lot of these companies don’t actually want qualified candidates, they want to fill positions with minorities or Indians. They already have enough smart white guys doing the bull of development and engineering, they don’t want more.
