Dapps will be rearchitected to be cross chain native. So you can use whatever gas on the chain you're transacting from and Chainlink will convert it to Link at a premium (ex. 10%) and handle all the other transactions on the different chain. Or you can pay the initial gas fee to sign the transaction on the blockchain you're on and send Chainlink tokens to cover the rest of the fees on the other chains.

This is what they mean by Chainlink being a universal gas token.
