still can't believe LINK was shilled here at 0.30

>> No.56480207

it was shilled here before the presale registration started. Then people who were given a presale pool allocation posted the ethereum addresses here and you could get around 2700 link per eth (less than $300). Each pool was around 100 to 300 eth I think. Everyone was scared that crowdfunding the presale pools would get them cancelled, but sergey ended up honoring all of them.

That was just the Chainlink team pretending to be decentralized. I know because I tried to enter that pool. It turns out that unfortunately the decentralized Chainlink community is really just the team creating new wallets they control secretly. And no this is not a fat Russian conspiracy it is real life. Luckily for me I bought the LPL presale number 42/186 so I retired already from the revenue sharing gains.

here's some more nostalgia
After the pools got funded by racist zoomers, everyone was panicking and wondering if their contributed eth would get canceled. Especially people who got in late and added eth over the prescribed total limit (there were 3 options I forget if it was 100, 200, 300 eth exactly).
iirc all the pools filled up in about 24-48 hours once listed on biz. Then there was a brutal 2 week period of silence and no update from Sergey. Fudders cried haha it's a scam! (the term rugpull wasn't really around in 2017) Then finally Sergey announced that the presale pools would be honored and a few days later our link magically appeared in our wallets.

Then the ico was held and everyone thought there would be an additional 32 million dollars of link available. But there was only about 2 million left from the presale that would be available for the ico so it sold out in minutes. Sergey announced a block number cutoff for getting accepted into the ico,
true OGs will know this block number.

I've been watching Patrick Collins videos lately on youtube to level up my smart-contract skills. His videos are enjoyable, and he's building an online learning platform for learning blockchain, solidity, web3, etc, which is great because he's probably one of the best instructors out there on this stuff.

There is a lot to learn, but that's true with any technology. At least this field is relatively new and can be disgustingly lucrative.

for at least few years there wasn't a single second without a chainlink thread in the catalog, sometimes, the catalog would be like 70% chainlink threads, I remember buying the dip at $0.17c in november 2017 after the sibos toilet crash, then it went up to $1.20 and we all felt ecstatic, all the assblaster threads would give a dopamine hit like nothing else, we were all young and hopeful for the future
