The only narrative that matters is this:

We need to get rid of a system, where a small group of actors run the show, even though they have massive conflicts of interest. I'm talking about: exchanges, investment banks, retail brokers, finance educators, (central) banks, etc.

We don't necessarily need to get rid of all these institutions, but the ones who stay, will have to transform into something better. And if not, they will be out-competed by better systems.
