This part was more concerning to me.
Since there isn't any specific news fueling this rally, it's possible that it's due to whale manipulation.

Why does there need to be? Besides, the news is BTC and the overall market is finally looking decent, with a bunch of potential catalysts for going up more (ETF, halving, etc). People are thinking the bear is nearly over. Then they see LINK has been sideways and low for 500 day+. So it was more likely to break up than down. And when something breaks up from a range like that, it goes up big. Helps that LINK is clearly not a dead project, and has had tons of positive developments like CCIP recently.

>>56431948
You're giving people too much credit.
Big price jumps that aren't the result of manipulation usually have some sort of catalyst and don't come out of nowhere.
How many people are actually sitting down and looking at the 5 year chart of Link?
Not enough to justify the volume in the last few days.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it runs nonstop until $1000, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

This recent move has been pretty illuminating. It's literally only the price obsessed fuddies and nulinkers who are confounded by this move. All of the development and news that happened over the past 500 days genuinely meant nothing to them, it never factored into their analysis, and in spite of the move it still doesn't. It's nice to be able to say "we told you so" but at the same time it only reinforces just how stridently irrational the crypto market is. There will always be a large cohort of people to whom nothing can be said.

This could be anyone though. That's not a huge amount to trade. And swing trading LINK is a pretty obvious thing to do given how well it has held the range. Buy in the 6's. Sell in the 8's. Short in the 9's.

you don't need news to create a rally, you just need less sellers and more buyers. sellers are exhausted since the price has been in the same range for 1.5 years and buyers are going up due to the breakout potential and overall good news.

up at this point , just give it up .

>> No.56432159

I've been holding link since 2020 and stupidly didn't sell. Pretty much entirely numb to the price movements now, I expect it to dump back to $7 next week. I guarantee its pumping because of cynical whale games. In general I truly believe crypto has no real world applications. The people here that believe the copium of big institutions accumulating in the background need to pull their heads out of their asses.

Someone is going to ask me why I don't sell and the reason is simple - someday this market will pump again and that's when i'll finally offload this junk onto the next idiot

>> No.56432240

Whales became whales because they are smart. They sell on large overbought pumps like this. Maybe you should learn from them

I'm not talking about LINK, But in general. The best pumps are those that "just happen" aka driven by insiders (Likely in coordination with the project foundation), Which naturally build up the hype and retail interest as price moon, Until they reach blowoff top.

The best pumps are ignited by whales who know exactly what they're doing, It always feels like somebody is "pushing" the price, I've seen it over and over again in crypto. Pumps that start with retail buying are usually weaker and shorter, Unless it's DOGE type of hype.
