And it is never coming back. I see hordes of retards who think they can just buy this shit and sit back and get rich. The miracle of 2020 with the unprecedented money printing will not be repeated ever in your lifetime, especially after all the inflation problems it caused. 2020-2021 was in fact the EXIT PUMP dead cat bounce for crypto that OGs used to cash out. 2017 was the real one and only pump for crypto where it was so new that anyone could hop in and get rich. By 2021 there were so many pajeet and kike grifters accustomed to the game siphoning money from retail. Now if there is another cycle (there won’t be), after the lockdown speculation bonanza where everyone got involved, there will be literally HALF OF THE WORLD involved in leeching money from the crypto system. That’s why it can’t happen. Too many people planning on this being their way of making money.

Your coins are not coming back. You will need to find another way to “make it” if you somehow didn’t in the past 15 years of uponly.

2017 was the real one 100% agreed.
You have to understand though that to be a young person in the west in the last ~6-10 years has been incredibly depressing, and the frustration of having to go to 'work', being wasted away by a system that more closely resembles feudalism while constantly shouting that it is capitalist and free-market and open enterprise... i mean people need this to work.
If crypto doesn't work that's it for a lot of people

This is why institutions are finally coming in. They've sniffed out that the normies are gone and that a bunch of money can be made now that the tech has become somewhat functional. Crypto will still have another cycle, but this time 99% of the tokens (including most of mine) will get axed by regulations and bled to death. This is where Googles and Microsofts will be made. Same shit happened with computing, internet, AI and now crypto.

Institutions were “here” since CME/Cboe futures launch in 2018. What good has it done? Bitcoin is trading in inflation adjusted terms below the 2017 high when institutions entered.

Institutions like CME and BlackRock just want to collect fees off the dumb goyim who want to buy this. They don’t buy it themselves. They just saw CZ and Arthur getting rich at doing something they are good at, being brokers, and decided they wanted a piece of the pie.

If anything institutional involvement and ETFs make crypto LESS valuable, because it removes the mystique of owning crypto in a wallet, which you had to be slightly technical and non-boomer to do. If ETFs go live, the genZ bagholder doesn’t feel special for holding it when their grandparents can do it too!

You heard about the powerball jackpot recently, right? That shit gets plastered across all fucking news channels anytime it gets north of $1B, with the singular goal of getting as many shmucks to sit and think "if I won the lottery I would..." and convince themselves to go and dump even more money into it. They play not because they expect to win, but because they love the idea that they *might*. That's crypto, except your odds are higher and the payout is lower. Crypto is to most people just an alternative form of lottery tickets, and they only want to play when other people start winning and the stories start coming out again that it's once again become a way to "get rich quick". They like the idea that their odds are higher and the payout is potentially quite high but uncertain. That's what most people want, a self perpetuating global raffleball they can throw money in with decent odds of winning. That's why crypto hasn't and never will die - it fills that gap in the market.

>> No.56356833

The grand irony is of course that the only way to *really* win in crypto is: play when they don't, quit playing when they do. Who is "they"? Well... they are the people who want the thrill of playing raffleball, no matter the odds or payout.

It was a pump driven by the stable issuers and exchanges, with the goal of enticing people to jump into crypto so as to liberate them from their dollars.

But it wasn't a pump totally based on nothing. Stablecoins are a very useful way for 2nd and 3rd world people to store value when their own currencies are hyperinflating or to evade capital controls, so there is some genuine demand for these products. And that's how they got big enough to pull these pump and dumps off.

Ofc they are probably only fractionally reserved and it seems like Uncle Schlomo has currently decided he wants to kill them. So now would not be a great time to be in anything crypto probably.

Anyways, the moral of the story is that there will be money to be made in crypto again, someday, just know the game you're playing. If there isn't organic usage of something beyond speculation: it's a ponzi. And you can even make money on ponzis, just never forget that's what it is. All the shit about smart contracts, defi, tokenization, oracles, blah blah blah, all sales pitches.

Significant pain will come for the crypto bull when
>price dumps after the halving
>S&P500 makes a new ATH while Bitcoin goes below $10k
The real kicker will be when “macro” and stocks recover yet crypto stays down. There is this delusion out there among cryptocucks that the only reason their coins are down is interest rates, macro etc. Truth is, the bubble collapsed on its own weight. You know it ran out of buyers when they put up SuperBowl commercials for crypto and the price didn’t go up.

The only counter-argument to the uselessness of crypto was “number to up bro.” Well, what happens when number only goes down. We are about to find out.

I think memecoins are a real miracle, but I can't risk my entire balance on it. I'd rather go for solid altcoins like XTP. The US launch announcement for Tap has already attracted new holders to this token, so just imagine what will happen when it's officially released anon.

I agree and have been saying this for over a year now. All these morons putting their hard-earned savings into alts because "during the next bullrun I will make it like the memes lolz!"

Even in a normal bullrun it's a crapshoot on which alts actually pump. Secondly, we aren't seeing that mania ever again. Crypto is as good as dead, or at least completely stagnant for the time being.

Crypto is the lowest-IQ "investment" you can make in 2023.

It’s already playing out. FAANG almost at ATH while Ethereum plunges.
There is simply no demand for crypto.

You're living in a bubble if you think the masses believe in the 4 year cycle. The masses don't touch bitcoin. Of the minority that do gamble in crypto, most don't know what it is. They just buy i
Bitcoin on robinhood or webull or some boomer exchange because it shows up on MSNBC.

46 million Americans own crypto. (13%—hmm what else is also 13% of the population? lol) Something like 95% of millennials own crypto. Just go on social media and search bitcoin. Everyone is bulled up for the guaranteed halving 4yr cycle ETF pump they’re entitled to. Crypto is the most crowded trade on earth, yet perversely most participants believe they are early contrarians or are insiders.

I am open to the scenario of stocks being fucked too. My point is really that it doesn’t matter what stocks do, crypto is fucked either way. The reason for crypto going to zero has nothing to do with stocks. Crypto is just independently shit.

>> No.56360846

Stocks going up won’t save crypto. There is no reason for crypto to leech off of equity returns. Look at 2015 and 2019. Even during the ZIRP bull market, there were many times crypto failed to catch a bid. It takes a lot for it to go up even during the best of times. So why do you expect it to go up shortly in the aftermath of one of the largest bubbles of human history? After the public got suckered into being victims of the biggest financial crimes since Maddoff (SBF, Do Kwon, Celsius)?

By market cap the entire crypto market is barely larger than tesla.

>> No.56360921

>>56360876
At the peak it was larger than Tesla.

Market cap has nothing to do with positioning. So if you’re trying to suggest that crypto is not crowded or “early” simply because its market cap is smaller than the largest companies in the world, you’re wrong. The crowd can be excessively long something with a small market cap. See AMC/GME. There are fundamental reasons for the market cap that have nothing to do with positioning.

Microsoft for example produces actual profits, so they can justify a certain valuation based on discounted future cash flow. Crypto produces no profits, actually net drains resources from the world, so the fact that it has any market cap at all is an anomaly.
