I had an SWE job that I recently quit and I'm seriously thinking of just getting a grocery store job at one of the places I can walk to from here. I've got ~80k saved up in tax differed accounts, I could use the job for rent + spending money, maybe get a roommate and have even more money. But its also grocery store work so you can get time off if you want because push come to shove, your boss will fill in for missing workers if they have to run the fucking register themselves.
You're not getting insurance and vacation time but I'd say the work is worth it to not have to work in a steel parts factory.
