I don’t know if you guys noticed during the smart on of this year, there subtle changes in how chainlink introduces themselves, they don’t say decentralized oracle network, but say that they are a decentralized compute platform, this is a very good move I think, from the marketing point of view, as you guys already know, chainlink has literally introduced the buzzword ORACLE into this whole space and it was quickly hijacked by literal fucking scammers like pyth, band protocol, witnet, socket, tellor, layer zero..;most of these solutions are scammy centralized oracles and gave a very bad name to the technology, an oracle was supposed to go beyond price feeds, but since those shitty bad actors came into the market, oracles have become synonymous with price feeds.
Decentralized compute platforms actually fits very well chainlink. And I think that will be harder to mimic or steal, since u’d need to implement a whole infrastructure and provide multiple services.

It's nice to distance Chainlink from the grifters and from the image of mere price feeeds, but "computing platform" sounds centralized and generic to me. Decentralized oracle network is specific and accurate.

Either way it's just marketing and semantics at this point, it's all already done the only question is when that's it, none of the """competitors""" have any chance whatsoever.

it's still just what oracles are but they keep trying to throw new buzzwords at the wall and see what sticks (latest one is "verifiable web" and next week it'll be something else again)

what they do is so complex and convoluted for retards that they can't really boil it down to a single simple term like "blockchain" and now mongs think "oracles" just means "price feeds" and they can't just be labeled under "bridges" either now so they have to keep coming up with new bs terms

unreal that after six years only a handful of biz autismos see the full picture of what they're building and the scope of the vision, it was always "the god protocol"

one thing that the bankless fags only started to realize with the itw is how chainlink isn't just price feeds, but multiple different services running in parallel

but it actually extends way beyond that, because they're not just running in parallel, they become inter composable with one another, and the more services they launch, the more this monopoly network effect will continue growing and nothing else can compete with them

it's not parallel, it's exponential

pyth may have advanced low latency price data, but price data is the only thing they do
layerzero or whatever may be an easy to use bridge, but a bridge is the only thing it is
gelato can be used for automation but it's the only thing it does
etc
now if you were to use each service separately, this introduces a lot of friction, dev headache and of course risk assumptions as your system is only as secure as your weakest link

chainlink btfo all of them by being a one stop shop, and each individual service is more secure and more advanced than their "only one use case" counterparts
and the advanced part just only grows when you consider the inter composability i was mentioning earlier, and this will only keep growing

this is the part that few even begin to realize but this is the endgame and why it'll keep dominating
you want dynamic RWA that remained audited and updated with price of underlying asset, while deployed on chain? you combine ccip, por, functions data, meanwhile the data streams are now embedded with automation, the payment abstraction layer is embedded with price data, etc

chainlink unlocks all the future new use cases and is the gateway for all future value flowing on chain

early defi 1.0 meme buzzword was "money legos", well chainlink should eventually rebrand as "infrastructure legos", like google or aws, it's schmidt saying "we want you to have a tiny bit of every chainlink service in everything you build" that's how you secure monopoly network effect

True but like with Google many services were created out of thin air with close to 0 investment which became very valuable using their services.
Investing in Google was profitable, but seeing how few people understand Chainlink we should have the ability to be early in every new service it enables and profit from everything just like during the DeFi summer.

What should we invest into to profit from the synergy of the new use cases in addition to Chainlink?
