It just can't be done. You're most likely to see that with yields climbing to 7% which'd be an omnicrash that forces the Fed's hand.

>He's delusional about the soft landing. He thinks he can achieve that, by not being too tough-
Yeah, it's either that or the plan is to inflate away as much debt as possible before bond baggies catch on. Talk a tough game, let real inflation tick away at a rate above the 10 year, clear the books prior to war with China. Except Biden's dumbfuck green pork completely undoes that.

>But at his core, he's a Volcker guy
Volcker took waaaaay more flack. Powell couldn't handle a few Brit pensions or sóyboy banks going under.

>he wont go down in history as the FED chair that lets inflation get out of control
He will. We'll see him bailout Japan while official inflation over the next couple months ticks up to 3.5%, then 4%, then 4.5%...

The chair's decision is absolute and final. They just record everyone's votes and try to appear to have unanimous consensus because it looks nice. But, again, that's a sop to something other than fighting inflation.

He certainly has that power, though the everyday work is distributed among the different actors inside. Not sure but I think to remember that during the committee hearing Powell repeated that it was a Barr who got the latitude to do the report on the March fuck up.
It would certainly helped to bring inflation down if the banks would have failed, but credit was already tightening and despite the credit line it kept tightening. I think the decision in that case was okay. The Biden spending is a worse crutch on fighting inflation

I think inflation will simply remain sticky for as long as the consumer continues spending. The limit will be reached somewhere in consumer credit card debt and consumer credit card debt delinquency numbers, I think, considering that personal savings are extremely low right now. But both of the aforementioned are much lower than pre-GFC with the exception of small bank (top 100 banks excluded) credit card delinquencies, which are at record highs. So there is some systemic risk in small banks, and inflation and spending will otherwise likely remain sticky because the consumer can still take on and withstand credit card debt for now

This is a shitty calendar, it shouldnt be useful to you. Check the FDA tracker site instead.
For me, I'm buying 14 bars ahead of the catalyst date at 1% risk (or was it 0.5%?). This helps me position my quantity, TP, and SL. I am using 1x ATR TP and 2.75x SL.
Then I calculate qty x atr to get my exposure, and make sure I have 1/3 of that in LABD (atr hedge, not price).
The idea is that I have exposure to bioshits with positive tail risk (popping off). But small companies should trend with the general sector/risk, so LABD shpuld help offset most of the movements until that specific company pops off. Had 3 small wins and 1 SL loss, mostly breakeven but its comfy to trade and wait

It may be true that they're highly profitable, but those companies' stocks are declining in value faster than they'll pay out any dividends right now. You could earn 10% per year, or you could just sell today and buy back next month to earn 10% within a few weeks. In the end, stocks are speculative just like futures.
The current speculation appears to be fear that the economy is going to collapse soon and kill demand. Personally I doubt that happens, but I'd rather listen to the music the whales are singing and dance the dance that gives me the most profit.

Oil companies pe ratios are much lower than S&P stocks have ratios of 20-30, and were still being bought. Oil demand is still incredibly high with shortages in diesel still. West coast might get a light winter from el nino. All told, oil will remain in 80s at least through this profit taking. It could also rocket back just as quickly. The biggest change was iraqi oil now making it into Turkey to the tune of 500,000bpd.
