at the moment we have no idea what will happen, the finding will likely be challenged in court and 18 months is never enough time for government to get anything done. As for now its business as usual, but things could become a headache for anyone trying to stake new ground. Blue Lagoon should be fine, they have a pretty good report with the local bands, and their on an existing mine, but anyone trying to start a new project could see serious problems.

>> No.56216178

also i should add, a bunch of bands will probably just up and tell the gov to keep going as business as usual, as a lot of bands dont have the staff to deal with yet another tacked on new office to deal with. The bigger bands working with miners already will likely do ok, and shouldnt be to big of a problem for people / companies. There will be bullshit i am sure but thats not here yet.

Now just have a ~30% of portfolio remainder in U that I'll trim a bit more of on the next big surge, not feeling any great rush to sell though with spot still rocketing out of control and the magnitude of incoming required forced buying from utilities being unknown with obscene upside

by not staking

if the land is worth working but not selling, you just work it. What are they gonna do? You're allowed to work a few yards, and the burden of proof is on them if they come across you working a huge pit. For all they know the pit was there before you showed up...

if it's worth selling you stake it and pay the vig. But that pretty much never happens here. If land is that valuable in the US it's already owned.

the other thing we do is tell our buddies if we find a hot property we can't afford to stake

yeah, sure, you end up sharing the cleanup with 100 other guys, but not one of you has to pay the cost of staking and none of you is likely to be prosecuted because they have no idea who exactly dug all those holes. Just a big ol gang of local prospectors each taking their allowed 2 yards of dirt. Nobody individually responsible for the 200+ yards of ground that got disturbed, and all of you getting some sort of payout for digging.

I have a positive outlook on both gold and copper in the long term. Gold exposure in portfolios is 1/4 of the long term historical mean and we're coming out of a 40-year long period of financial stability. By betting on gold coming into favor again I'm betting people will be a lot more uncertain and fearful going forward. I think gold will be in demand again for the average person and investor, eventually. As for copper, its supply is going down while its demand is projected to grow massively. New copper mines just aren't coming online quickly enough to respond to the increasing demand. The capital expenditures necessary to explore and develop new copper mines in the last 40 years have been woefully insufficient, and permitting takes years. Getting a new copper mine online can easily take a decade or two. A recession can put a halt into copper price discovery for a while though.

can't speak for copper, what you say about gold is true. however, in the short term, oil is surging which means much higher inflation thus higher rates (and, as an extension, higher DXY) and lower gold prices. there will be a panic, probably to $1600 and miners will dump, that will be the ideal buying point. entirely possible the overall market tanks and margin calls force gold and gold miner selloffs, similar to 2020. im sitting largely in cash and comfy

https://www.garynorth.com/public/department141.cfm

Whether you have a central bank print paper money, or have the government do it directly, MMT and communism are just as evil.

For months now, every thread has had infiltrators from /pol/ virtue-signalling about Jews in every post, triple-bracketing every other word, promoting communist, neo-Nazi, Greenbacker rubbish like A History of Central Banking and the Enslavement of Mankind. GARY? You mean Gary Savage?
The multi-millionaire entrepeneur and investor? I heard Gary Savage is a national judo champion, has a dick like a can of Pringles™ (which Gary Savage calls his BGSC) and has sexually satisfied over 50 japanese booba carriers from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
It seems you're talking about the same Gary Savage who runs the private trading subscription with direct access to Gary Savage's insights and commentary on numerous different markets, including but not limited to: stocks, precious metals, oil and currencies.
All that, plus documentation of Gary Savage's personal trading rules and private terminology - for only $75 a month*!

If that's the Gary Savage you are talking about, then I will certainly make sure to expect a turn around no later than friday morning!

Why? It depends on what the guy in power uses the money for. Stupid dumbass libertarians don't realize that a free market needs to be maintained with an iron fist just like a garden needs to be weeded so that it doesn't revert to jungle.

ANON? Are you talking about Anon Ymous?
The sweaty NEET basement masturbator?
I heard Anon is a regiional embarrassment and has a gut like a pregnant sow and has saxually satisfied himself with over 50 different japaense Tenga™ eggs.
It seems you're talking about the same Anon who runs the private shitcoin spambot with direct access to /biz/'s 1PBTIDs and generals through numerous different IPs, including /cmmg/.
All that, plus archives of Anon's shitposts and junior mining gambles, through a 4chan pass - for only $20* per year, which is about $1.67 per month.

If that's the Anon you are talking about, then I will certainly make sure to expect new gold highs no later than friday morning!

Alpha Metallurgical Resources has been doing really good.
But the coal market is funny. I work in coal. Six months ago, new coal miners would be hired in a heartbeat. Now companies aren't hiring as many and many kids with new miner cards can't find work.
Something is going on but I don't know what.

Basically, hiring in the coal industry was a free for all last year and earlier this year. Now hiring is way down, even for experienced equipment operators in some areas. I don't know what this means but it spooks me.

are you in Met coal or fuel coal? Met Coal goes up and down with the China / Japanese steel industries, thats where 90% of that goes. Steel is down, then so is met coal.

That's not it. Wind and solar were hyped more a year ago than they are now and coal was doing gangbusters a year ago and hiring like crazy. To me, coal companies seem to be expecting a downturn.
