At the current spot price of $22.39/ozt (per Yahoo) of .999 Ag,
$1 of 90% coinage has at most 0.723 ozt Ag worth $16.19.
If a retailer sells $10 lots of junk 90% silver coins for $200, it means they're selling 7.232 ozt of .999 Ag for $27.66/ozt - a 24% markup.

Normalcy bias is a hell of a thing. Most normies I know think PMs are a bad investment and they "need to talk to a financial professional" before investing in anything. It's easy, take fiat, exchange for PMs. Done, it's that easy. You don't pump anyone else's bags and you become your own bank. That's it's, simple. I can't even imagine how tough it is to be stupid.

It will go on as long as the people in control allow it to do so. The elite are masters at wealth extraction and will create new tools if their current tools fail, or even reactivate old tools to prevent such things like capital flight happening. Your only concern is to exploit their manipulations for yourself and your family, but most importantly to exist comfortably outside the system off the grid. Parasites can only exist on a host who isn't too bothered by them. If enough people are wise to the tricks, the parasites would rapidly decrease in influence and will have to adapt to the new norm. There will be no collapse, only a window of opportunity drag some of your wealth back.

>Nice Roman silver coin you got there…you seriously gonna spend it on groceries when the dollar goes tits up?

Imagine not having a comfy stack of denarii to pay the 3rd horseman of the apocalypse for your measures of wheat and barley when Famine sweeps through your town.

>Hell, most of its value comes from the fact that it’s a collector’s item. Which is to say that that value will mostly vanish when things go south.

You want items with broad globally distributed appeal. If the USD dies no one with stable currency will want to buy bankrupt boomers' 2021 Morgan and Peace dollar restrikes because only burgerfats care about those, so much of the value over melt will likely vanish. Ancient coins, art, antiquities etc. enjoy a global fanbase and are pursued by individuals who are typically more wealthy and financially resilient than the average American boomoid collecting Baseball cards and State Quarters, so they are a more stable class of collectible to hold. If fiat dies globally and only practical things matter while people are scrambling for food, fuel, medicine, shelter and weapons/ammo then bullion won't be worth much either. If that happens I'll probably keep all the food I grow but happily trade my kilos of different pure pharmaceuticals for their worthless boomer rocks.

You offer nothing but ideals. There used to be a time where citizens would walk out of the city to cripple the power of the elites. While that is near impossible to pull off in today's world, it is still possible to do it locally with your family members. You would be utterly moronic to think that everyone should sacrifice their way of living for the collective when the elite hold the keys. The only way to win is to chip away bit by bit by moving outside of the system and showing others in your sphere of influence that you can succeed outside of it. When that gains momentum is when the elite will weaken. It's the most effective way to win. Afghanistan showed that the most powerful global military in existence can be defeated through decentralized attrition of indirect attacks. Those indirect attacks is getting the huge powerful force to burn through its resources, as in you make it as difficult as possible to grab you, or you do as much damage as you can to their instruments with the least amount of effort. The most passive way of doing that is to engage as little as possible in the system with the most extreme way of doing that is to burn or destroy critical infrastructure such as water/energy/food. I'm doing my part by making plans to be outside the system while BRICS can be the economic aggressors distracting our elites with their new world order being developed. This isn't FUD, this is pragmatic.

He didn't mention aesthetics at all though, and I think that's really a matter of personal taste. For me the first consideration is price, and I just can't bother to spend 75-150 euros on 2 oz coins that were minted in high amounts.
In fact, I have some pretty tight limits. That's why I might not finish this series. I missed the very first coin (Isis) and now it's over 50 euros. So nah, count me out. And here's the latest coin, but I've already bought the Chad 2 oz Anubis coin (5000 mintage) for a bit less per oz than this is going for. So hey, I guess I don't need this one either! There are still many other interesting coins I could buy, and many countries I still haven't got anything from yet.

This mountain of scrap is so magnificent, i never get bored looking at it. Any slurping worth mentioning lately fren?

Was thinking of you bro when i was out in the big flea market charity thing this weekend. Just came back home after a long ride.
I had lot of fun, but business wise it ended up being complete shit. It was only tons upon tons of worthless boomers' trinkets.

Only things i managed to secure are a heavy -over 2kg for sure, but i yet have to weight it- 18th c. tin plate (thanks to you, since i decided to learn about tin hallmarks after you posted about how undervalued it is as a metal).
2x anti-jewish pamphlets in an anti-masonic catholic magazine called "International revue of Secret Societies" from 1930.
1x elementary school book of morale virtue (yes, it was a thing back then, before corruption of the youth became a priority) for the year 1882, only read few pages, but this is super based already.
1x incredibly obscur philately book specializing on old french stamp markings of a specific region, full of engraving. Idk anything about stamps, but when i tried to acquire reading material about 16-18th c. silver hallmarks, i couldn't find any book below 300€, so i thought it could be the same about stamps? I.e very low print, ultra-specialized stuff about various collections.
And THE only big score of the weekend : a technical book about anti-hacking procedures for electronic surveillance devices. When i saw the book i taught to myself "no fucking way something so specific and designed for spooks isn't worth monies!". And bingo, the book last sold copies went for 160-200€ on ebay. Which was also the price tag for new copies back when it was in print.

The total costed me 8€, so i can't complain too much, let say the gains will pay for the fuel, restaurants and the flashing from fucking radars over speed limits (twice, and for 1-2mph over the limit :/, literally organized thievery/hidden tax targeting evil goyim still using their cars)

I haven't slurped any scrap in a week or so, haven't really been looking either though as I've been focusing more on locating and learning more about various arcane antiques for my collections and networking with other antique collectors to trade with. The most exciting discovery lately occurred several days ago when I was looking at old pictures of a circa 1916-1920 scrapbook (like a photo and memento album) I have had since I was a kid and which has been in storage for years, and realized that it has a Major League baseball game ticket from 1917 from a game that the famous baseball star Ty Cobb was in. They're very rare so research is difficult and I found no exact matches, but my sense is that it could be worth around $1000 or more, and certainly no less than $400. I never paid attention to the many different tickets in the scrapbook before as I was interested in other things. I'll carefully remove it and send it in for grading and slabbing, and there may be other valuable sports game tickets in the book too. Quite amusing how I own so much cool stuff that I can find treasure by just digging through my own collections again kek.

>18th c. tin plate
A 2 kilo platter/charger sounds awesome, please post pics of that fren. Antique pewter (poor man's silver) usually isn't worth a fortune but it will certainly be worth more than the ~$50 of tin content, plus it looks extremely cool and old-school so is nice to own and admire. It looks like you did pretty well at the flea market congrats man, and if the book on old French postage stamps turns out to be desirable then you'll do better than break-even. I bought a big dictionary-sized book on US trademarks printed in 1979 a while ago for $1, very obscure with no sales data anywhere so I had it listed for a truly semitic amount and after a few months someone offered $150 for it. Your stamp book may be like that, list it with a ridiculous price + OBO option and eventually the right autist will find it.

it is time to get out of the system as best we can. last chance soon. (only confirming what we have all known already for a long time now)
the next 3 years will be rough but at least we are passed the turning point and on our way to the other side of whatever the fuck this is.
real world assets, commodities, common everyday goods and services will revalued+ and "disconnected" from 'Wall Street'
PMs will just be one of these real world assets.
in the center of the storm now.

This is a pretty solid intuition, although I do not think we are anywhere close to the turning point because at it's heart, the bond market implosion will reveal a massive shortfall of resources (hence why we stack physical stores of value). The economy will take possibly DECADES of the masses working depressed wages to scrimp by and actually stash away enough savings to recapitalize the banks in order to move things forward. At it's heart, an economy needs SAVINGS, aka deferred consumption. The monetarists were attempting to substitute credit and spurn on monetary velocity in lieu of economic fundamentals and the economy we built the last 40 years is going to come to a screeching halt.

Depending on your home life, relationships, friendships, hobbies etc. Now is likely a good time to be working a second job for general security but also having more excess cash to stack. I'm coming up on my second year of working a second job in order to make more investments and my life's financial health has made some serious gains. No one knows where/when the endgame is, and once we cross that threshold will be like going off into the deep end. The "safe haven" of PMs will no longer be an option to dump your money. Your paychecks may go straight into 100% cost of living for YEARS before the price of PMs rips due to deflationary pressure. Even if you have PMs, expect the coming collapse to be like someone squeezing your balls to see if your drop any silver from your hands. Expect the banks to wring the economy out like a sponge.

The point is, I think everyone who stacks PMs should have a physical cash buffer incase banks shut down for awhile.
Because in all honesty, once PMs hit the mainstream you probably don't want to be seen walking in to one to sell physical silver for cash for awhile.
It's pretty scary to think about, but when the ponzi blows up and hyper inflates away we will be in some very serious times. Desperate people create dangerous situations that you would want to avoid. The price move of metals imo will not be something you read about in a newspaper, but something you FEEL. I expect the Fed, the government, the banks, the corporations to adjust quite quickly in a pre-planned fashion when it does happen. It will feel like we got blindsided with no time to react. And with that will come opportunistic thieves looking to rob PMs buyers/sellers.

It's a risk anywhere, but I've never lived in a safer or more wholesome state than Wyoming. More guns per-capita than anywhere, constitutional no-permit/license open-carry for anyone and literally the fewest blacks per-capita of any state in the union, it's wonderful. Last week my kid's school sent an email to all parents addressing the concerns of some parents who saw a rare negroid lazily ambling around the neighborhood. The cops were called to take out the trash and then the school reassured everyone that they're now keeping the doors locked and will have someone posted at the door to unlock and hold it open when they see students and parents walking up. Instead of cucked and inconvenient prison-like surveillance and security measures used in diverse shitholes which punish decent white folk the arrangement is now even more convenient than before. The people here have no idea how based they are, that's just the way things work Wyoming.

Oh, well that changes the dynamic significantly! What sort of stuff does your dad sell? I've set up at a few flea markets and antique shows and the primary reason a significant minority of the dealers seem to pay for a table is to get the very first pick of the best goodies other sellers have, actually moving inventory themselves is welcome of course but a secondary motivation to acquiring rare cheapies for their own collections. >my newfound love of silver made me appreciate intricate workings of the metal.

I like the dynamic dimensionality old silver acquires over time, an attractive patina adds a lot of depth, character and contrast to the features of coins or silverware. I'd be quite surprised if anyone could compare the St George and dragon on a gold Sovereign with that same reverse on an old silver Crown and sincerely say the rendering in gold looks better.

My personal end goal is 5% of my total wealth. I spend about 300-400usd on PMs a month, because it is both a hobby and a form of savings, so I can justify it that way. I don't believe there is any real 'best practice' for PM stacking, everyone here is just going on what makes sense to them and what they enjoy and/or are comfy with. Try buying 5oz of silver a month for a little bit and see how it feels.

yeah i'm not making major decisions based on his talks, per se.
but i think somehow he's onto something, even if its just a form of echoing, vocalizing or summarizing what it is some already sense, know and feel.
for most of us, there's only so much we can do anyways. and i'm guessing we've already done it. sold, saved, bought, stacked, prepped, stashed, buried, whatever.

Depends on the purity but if it's 90+% and cheap, go for it.
I have some even lower quality coins as well, but it adds useless weight. Can still be worth it but depends on how low the premiums are. Here I can get 625 for spot price.

how much is the cash advance fee?
you will pay a premium when buying the gold, no matter what you buy it with
you will probably lose this premium when selling because most buyers will buy at spot price (+/-), if your lucky

what you "save" in avoiding cash advance fee will likely be "lost" in the premiums built into the purchase price of the gold

I've only listened to a few of his talks. Some of the interviews available are difficult to listen to because the "interviewer" is constantly interrupting him and he doesn't get a chance to follow through and layout the entirety of ideas and concepts.

but his system of study sort of makes sense. he takes in data of public discussion, comment, stories, etc. (available from modern communications via internet and digital media) and puts it all in a data base.
then he runs it through some sort of programmed matrix set to recognize, catalogue and apply statistical analysis to specific key words, phrases, etc.

the analysis yields a data set that basically gives insight into the topics, subject matter, dynamics, trends and so on, of peoples thought's, feelings, concerns, based upon what is being said or talked about in the informational feeds.

it sort of makes sense. i mean, in a way, its basically like eavesdropping on the conversationsof a group. if the group is unaware of the eavesdropping, then you might estimate that the things they discuss are honestly what they are experiencing or thinking about or planning to do

extrapolate this to all of society and whamo. there you go. there's alot more to it than that i'm sire. but its something like this
i think Clif has other projects and studies. he is an IT geek among other things.

And that's just the "hard" debt and just at the Federal level of government. It doesn't include the "soft" debt, meaning programmatic obligations like Social Security and Medicare/medicaid nor the contractual obligations of employee pensions. It doesn't include State-level debt. And it doesn't include private debt: commercial loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc. The total debt load is mind-boggling. It is a hole so big it would swallow most of the world's supply of dollars and the whirlpool would suck in the global economy.
