>be offered 3 100k+ year jobs
>they want me to move across the country and be an office pleb 5 days a week.

Not fucking happening, I will do anything but sit in a wagie cage for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Why is the CS job market so bad right now? I would work for 50k/year if I could be remote fully.

Holy Fuck dude, you gotta be trolling, you won’t work for 100k a year??? You could work for a goddamn decade, buy a home, and live comfortably for the rest of your life

After taxes, 401k contributions, ESPP plan buying, etc you're only looking at 33k a year. Add in food, housing, etc and it will take you 90 years to buy a house.

no he's smart they probably want him to live in California which has sped right past shithole and has found itself in dumpster fire mode
I wouldn't move to CA unless I'm getting paid $160k plain and simple, and that's the MINIMUM

Sitting in a cubicle for 8 hours every day + commuting isn't something I want or will do. I will take vastly less money for total flexibility with respect to where and how I work.

It's hilarious seeing all this RTO propaganda trying to argue any of us want to sit in a cubie, the amount they would need to pay would be at least double.

Thats actually reasonable. He could probably save 50k just by moving. The time spent without traffic, living in a safer environment, freedom to travel are all just bonuses.

No, employees still have to be US citizens for a variety of reasons.

The RTO push is entirely to try to make people tied to an employer, if you don't need to change locations to change jobs it makes it vastly easier to continually move up even while having a family.
