For the EU bears here:
I'm currently shorting DAX. With 12 Euros investment (CFD-short) I get 26 cents interest in a month. So for 12 Euros Marginposition, which is a 0,015 short on the dax (1,5cent per pip) I'll have 12,26 at the end of the month. That is 26% interest on your capital. Anybody who is shorting EU and not using CMC or at least IG (they also pay you) is missing out.

Crox in my mind is going to be the next coca cola. Imagine coke early on and who would possibly have considered investing long term. it was sugar water. Easily exposed to competition, all it had was branding. But in a market where your product is extremely cheap to manufacture (expanded foam shoes, like bottled sugar water), establishing yourself as THE brand means that you can maintain super solid margins AND provide your customer with the brand name satisfaction from purchasing THE brand. Coke succeeded because it cost so little extra in the large scale of things to just go ahead and get THE brand. All brown sugar water is often called “coke”, and similarly, all foam clogs will always be called “crocs” even if they are some other brand. Crocs IS THE brand you want to have, its the name brand of its category. And they make like insane margins charging even $50 per pair. This is also why they actually do BETTER in recessions. Its the cheapest shoe you can buy and get the “top of the line”. People don’t forego luxuries altogether and crocs, like coca cola, is a very, very good deal for consumers who are even somewhat brand conscious (basically everyone). Look at their growth in Asian, African markets. It’s clearly evidence that slightly cheaper knock offs are just not hurting their business whatsoever. Also consider the general trend of the worlds economy. Theres broadly a massive trend to work-from-home and service related occupations. I would argue Crocs is THE shoe for WFH and an extremely popular choice for service type occupations. The fact its a top choice for nurses and kitchen workers is a huge compliment to their actual utility as more than comfort, but also durable and high functioning. As well as the trend away from formal and towards casual.

Heh, true that. That is the best way to stimulate the economy right? Free money was the way to go for a long time but then we got way way too greedy during Covid.
The way of the average person was to get a loan to "make it" in the world. Just take a loan for everything. THose that didn't were left in the dust. It was just too economically efficient to get a loan. Hate that system since I don't wanna become a slave to the banks.
It will be interesting here in Europoor since many people here (majority in certain countries) have short-term mortgages which will be re-financed later this year and then also next year to significantly higher rates. People are about to start paying the price for those free monies. That is when the rates should start exerting a real effect on the inflation and bring it down

https://www.forexlive.com/news/a-slight-breather-in-bond-selling-for-now-20230926/
>The retreat came alongside a fall in USD/JPY earlier, with the pair now trading flat at 148.87 after the remarks from Japan finance minister Suzuki here. We'll see what the US session brings along later in the day.
https://www.forexlive.com/news/japan-finance-minister-says-closely-watching-fx-moves-with-a-great-sense-of-urgency-20230926/
>Japan finance minister says closely watching FX moves with a great sense of urgency
this made the usd/yen fall from 149 to 148.875
however this move makes very little sense to me
if BOJ was to defend yen, was to intervene and bid up yen, the way that they would do so is to sell US bonds for dollars and use the dollars to buy yen, driving up yields (which the higher yields will drive up the dollar)
This rally move in bonds is very illogical, but it was super oversold and out of average true range, so I guess it was all that was needed

if they did that, it would also make yields surge higher worldwide
if they raised YCC target, the yen carry trade would unwind, investors/traders would need to close out their yen carry trades, would need to sell higher yielding US / EU bonds (driving their yields up higher) and repaying their yen debts
liquidity generated from this yen carry trade would decrease, overall bids would decrease, bonds would fall sharply
either intervention results in higher yields

>>56199479

as both forms of intervention would result in yields moving even higher
but for whatever reason, this was seen as the excuse to buy bonds
bonds have been super oversold and extended out of average true range for a while
as I mentioned initially >>56199431 it seems a lot more likely that the Fed / PPT initiated the buying, using the Suzuki remarks as an excuse (when it is totally irrational and would have an opposite effect in reality)

women are obsessed with status, how their peers view them - them having tickets to a Taylor show / pictures of them at the show are a huge boost to social status

And if you're in a tax advantaged account or live in a state with no income tax, there are better options than t-bills. For example, see FLOT.

Exactly, large caps are doing fuckin fantastic these last two years. Tax evasions/special deals with the government, insane profits, ZIRP and high priority loans, and insanely underrated still. These large caps in Europe are hovering around a P/E of 4-15 and if you account for this year's earnings, the P/E drops to 3-12. European large indices are for the most part still underrated.
Mega caps/Large caps are the ones that thrive in this environment since everyone rallies to them. They've got cash and very manageable debts

USD is strong both because of the global rate differential AND the growth differential, that's what's priced in.
Yet every major piece of news of the past week points to lower growth and the USD isn't getting repriced lower, in fact it's strengthening, because it's the safe haven currency (to hide from US caused issues).
Why isn't the yen rallying as a safe haven? If BoJ exits YCC it will lead to giga capital inflows and the yen was a safe haven up until the coof.
The dollar strength is not only wrecking havoc on the rest of the global economy, but it's fucking insane that it pumps even when their retarded politicians are taking a shit on the capitol floor and closing the government down due to aids.
If the retarded politicians in any other country decided to close down to government out of sheer faggotry their currency would be dumping and the market would whip the sense back into them.

That’s retarded, too. I want you to dig up a giant pocket of organic matter in the process of turning into oil.
Show it to me. Where are the giant underground pockets of dead ancient rotting plants and algae that haven’t quite turned into oil?

Kerogen isnt carbon storage its carbon generation by breaking down organic matter with temperature and pressure. Carbonates store carbon when they form more shell matter.

What’s the catalyst? Any bank failures? Asset bubbles showing signs of popping? Terrible economic data?
Over the last year and a half we have had
>Bank failures
>Rates skyrocket
>Largest War in Europe since 1945
>Supply shocks from China lockdowns and Russian sanctions
>China real estate collapse
And yet none of these have been enough to really draw the market down to capitulation levels. That’s how badly this shit wants to rip.
