Central Bank and government gold holdings, as measured in actual mass (not fiat value) have reached levels not seen since before Nixon killed the gold standard. We can speculate why, but pretty certainly isn't because they think gold is going to lose value. Get on board, Frens.

Stackers literally are the polar opposite of that mindset. They slowly grow their wealth with a clear objective in mind, they are financially literate enough to understand why they should be stacking, and know how to budget to have extra cash to convert at the end of each month/quarter/whatever timeline they fixed for themselves. We are the human equivalent of prudent squirrels.
Though the day we inevitably moon, sure.. i plan to enjoy it a bit and reward myself for my long term dedication and efforts. But tbf, stacking itself is already a reward, i just love it. Simple as. Being rich (at least relatively to every normie who will lose all their digital "wealth") will simply be the cherry on top of the stack.

It's funny to see all the central bankers scream on the top of their lungs that everything is alright, no collapse incoming, 100% softest landing, while discretly stacking as much as they possibly can.

Even the ECB discretly added 2 tons last month, something they NEVER did, as the good little vassal institution of the US, they always were in tandem with the Fed to make gold look bad to prop up the USD and it's € ersatz.
Actually, iirc they bought (source : undisclosed btw) right after the 3 big notation agencies downgraded the US debt in August.
Speaks volume. The very definition of don't look at what (((they))) says, but what they do.

The certainty of the stackbros making it is literally 100%. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind.

Remember the guy asking himself whether he should invest all his 20k into PMs and what he should do in case of an emergency?
Remember the people showing their stacks where they have paid on average 30% or more premium on semi-numismatic silver?

I've always seen it as anons enjoying /pmg/-specific ingroup shibboleths and memes or satirical funposting, I doubt the anons talking about harems of GM Catgirl Goblins and merc-starved FWTDHWATDOQAs actually view it as their exit-strategy. I like admonishing anons who would part with a whole entire merc for a mere BJ and instruct them to wait until pussy prices plummet to around 40mg of silver, but IRL I have a great and accommodating wife and would like to remain STD-free so it's all just funposting I'd never have any interest in pursuing if such absurd scenarios actually came to pass.

The most definite change I'd recommend is to go for dropping some silver for a third gold ozt coin and forget the fractional bars.
Also, I'd drop the silver Krugs and Phils and get two tubes of Maples and Brits. If you need the Ks&Ps, nuke the kg bars for those and get 10-ozt bars to fill your bill.
Just my opinion of course. Mostly, follow your own desire. My collection is far more eclectic. I rarely buy more than one of anything.

I would stack whatever silver is cheapest. But it's not a bad idea to also get one of each coin in a capsule.
For the gold, just skip the (high premium) 1 gram pieces and get a 20F gold coin instead. Those are 5.8 grams of gold. You could also switch out the 10 g bars for sovs (7.32 grams of gold). That will be a lot more interesting than plain bars.

Buy junk silver...and treat it as such.
Buy "collectibles" and buy them pre-slabbed on auction sites... old boomers die off, and you reap the savings.
Simple as.
Get some binders and some baseball card folders for them, plop your collectibles in it, most of the pre-slabbed coins from the reputable grading houses fit in them.
If they don't fit, they probably aren't legit...most fake grading companies use non standard slabs, and most are oversized, for whatever reason.

You forget about the gazillions of modern designs being sharted out on a daily basis by mints. Those aren't truly collectible, it's just bait. Something designed to be "collectible" will never truly be a collectible, it's just trash. And mints' only goal is to try to maximize their margin via appealing designs. It's endless and pointless.

You must focus on antique stuff with sovl. Those coins have history and are truly scarce and valuable.
First you decide a period or a location (and even a material) you are interested in, then you study it. It could be ancient Greece, Rome, feudal kingdoms, western Europe renaissance, XIXth century silver, Ottoman empire,...
Second, you become extremely paranoid, as chinks produce fakes of literally anything, even the most obscure stuff isn't shielded by chinks' manufacturing.
Third, you learn how to determine the approximative grade of a coin, most of the price derive from the condition. You can't simply think
>ho this coin is $50 in average
because a poor condition will sell for 5 bux and a perfect one will potentially fetch thousands.

And you must love history, as half the joy derived from coin collecting is learning about the kings, battles, alliances, living standards, etc.. your coin went through.

That really is a huge part of it. You can talk about the metal and how it feels while you hold a coin since they do "feel" different than cards and arguably even cash but it's the history there.

From the die to the colored erosion and streaks on a coin tells you a story about it: whether a long, rough journey or a cared, held and crafted trek all coins imprint their tales.

I don't know anything about metal detectoring, but it's true that when i look after lots of dug up coins online, copper coins often are in much worse condition compared to their silver counterpart. The exception seems to be in semi-arid climate, as for anything else, dry soil tend to preserve copper way better i suppose?

>The exception seems to be in semi-arid climate, as for anything else, dry soil tend to preserve copper way better i suppose?

Yeah generally speaking, if the arid regions don't have much salt or chemical activity in the soil then not much of the copper will have been converted to the green carbonate or other salts and they'll often have a nice brown to nearly black patina and smooth surfaces which make them a pleasure to clean. I believe some ancient coppers and bronzes could even be found with some mint luster left. I have some ancient Scythian arrowheads from the 4th century BC that must have been found in a dry cave because besides a few spots of corrosion they still displayed much of the original fresh shiny yellow color, and they even had remains of the ancient wood arrow shafts in their sockets!
>PS : my invitation for you to come dig up in my region and be housed as my guest still stand, my house is standing 100m away from the largest roman trade route to Lutetia back then. There are roman mileposts everywhere in the woods, no way you wouldn't find some treasures with your intuition!
My fren, I would absolutely love meeting and then going on treasure-hunting adventures with you, and would show you special low-tech techniques for finding good stuff which most detectorists or artifact-hunters don't know about. You know I've never wondered how much silver and gold someone would earn and spend on average per year when it was money. The best thing about real wealth is that you know it will hold its spending power over an extremely long period of time. Some people will say that you get more from putting savings into stocks, but those are the very things you want to avoid because they're effectively gambling and have counter party risk. Rare desirable metals will always be the ultimate storage of wealth, a buy and forget until you want to spend.

A classic example is Henry Ford who started paying his factory workers $5 per day in early 1914, more than doubling the wages he paid before that. Earning a $5 gold coin every day, multiplied by 260 work days in a year would yield them 62.8 troy ounces worth of pure gold, rather better than most factory workers could hope for nowadays.

I realize most penny stackers do it for relaxation or to create art, but for those who are stacking for profit here's how the numbers grind…
A pre-1982 penny is 95% Cu, 5% Zn, and weighs 3.11 grams comprising 2.9545g Cu and 0.1555g Zn.
At the current price of $3.67/lb avdp for Cu, a penny has 2.39 cents' worth of Cu, and the zinc's value adds less than 4 hundreths of a cent.
Wow! A potential instant profit of 1.39 cents of profit from the copper per penny!
If your goal is to have a profit of $100 from the copper content in pennies, you would need 7192 pennies ($71.92) weighing 22.37 kg (=49.31 lbs avdp.)

Going to sell them at spot on ebay? Ebay takes a 12% cut of the sale price as a fee. You now have $88 in profit.
Unless it's for pickup, somebody is going to pay for shipping that 49.31 lbs. The customer will want to make up that cost - maybe by paying less for the metal, or you pay. That's another cut into profit.
Going to melt it yourself? You kind of have to – no commercial company will do it for you: in the US it's illegal, and they have better things to do than risk their money, business, and/or freedom for the sake of melting your little stack.
>makeitfrommetal.com/is-it-illegal-to-melt-destroy-us-pennies-and-other-coins/
Bars you create will return the most profit. But you need to buy or make the furnace, fuel, molds, handling equipment, and have the time and space to work with the stuff.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPQDkKA4MLE

inb4 “But I can sell the pennies as pennies for a profit on ebay!” Yes, you can. But the prudent buyer is going to have to check each penny for date or appearance to weed out the zinc ones. That’s a lot of tedious work, so few people buy in profitable bulk.

Tl;dr: You'll more likely end up with buckets of pennies sitting in the garage for the rest of your life, and your kids will curse you for leaving this mess.

That's my take.
On the flip side... in my dozen years of stacking, copper has gone up a bit less than twice as much. Back then pound bars were $7.50 and kilos were $15. It seemed cheap, and there were commercial vendors were aplenty. Nowadays there are no real copper vendors - only garage melters and some individuals selling the bars they bought back then. Thing is, they now charge $20 or more for a pound! The gold and the copper I have are still worth more than when I bought. Silver has done nothing (granted, it was $37/ozt when I started), but I don't care. I love silver and buy it because there's so much more art in the silver world. I always preferred the look of silver too.

Not to mention that in times of shortage of gold and silver for everyday transactions, copper is always the go to for everyday folks (the 13 colonies during their silver shortage for example). Your whole premise relies on selling metals - which have inherent value to them because of their properties - for worthless (((cash))) in the hopes of ever-increasing their worthless cash reserves.
>Tl;dr: You'll more likely end up with buckets of pennies sitting in the garage for the rest of your life, and your kids will curse you for leaving this mess
If your kids curse you for anything, either you're a fuck-up or you let society brainwash your own kids against you.

The colonies were legally forbidden from importing any silver or gold from outside heavily-taxed England. They were permitted to import as much copper as they were willing. The early US half-penny was made of pure copper and was the size of a modern quarter-dollar, yet by inflationary adjustment was worth nearly twice as much on the market.

While true about the average person's intellect, it wouldn't have to be a gradual process. Most people under the age of 50 don't bother with change smaller than the quarter, and even then they would rather just break a bill instead. So it wouldn't impact many people - maybe outside those who own penny-smashing machines and collectors - if the government just phased it out at the beginning of the year.
>I didn't mean they'll hate you and stomp on your grave. More like, "What are we gonna do with all these damned pennies?"
I understand, but still; your kids should atleast know the potential value of such things. If you have a collection of rare items that would look like regular junk to the untrained eye, make sure your kids do have a trained eye for it before you pass (assuming you don't go untimely). That should be one of the goals for parents who are stackers and collectors. I wouldn't want my son to find my $$$$$$ valued collection after i die and just toss it in the garbage, when he could of atleast sold it and helped pay for his own family. So many people inherit things they know little to nothing about and end up tossing away treasures

Get yourself an antique Congomongoloid copper "Katanga" cross ingot, if you hold out for a good deal then you can "make a few bucks on them" immediately. I bought 3 for $110 shipped, kept picrel which was the biggest and best, gave my dad the next one then sold the most niggardly little one for $140. Since they were used in the local slave trade and are also more ergonomically suited for crushing skulls than normal bars it's a rather satisfying form of copper to hold.

But the surprise came up on the other side, where i saw the monogram of Louis XV himself!
I couldn't believe my eyes, so i investigated the matter, and so far everything matches.

First, all the royal hallmarks indicates me the set is from 1758, mid-reign of Louis XV. It was registered in Paris, where the castle of Versailles was ordering most it's furnitures and tablewares.
It was crafted by Jacques Anthiaume, who have several pieces exposed in the Louvres, the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, and the like.
And finally the royal monogram, the intertwined double L, was a royal privilege, copying it probably would have been a crime of lèse-majesty. And why would another family take the king's monogram rather than engraving their own family's heraldry/blason?
Last clue, of which is just personal observation, because infos online are very scarce, but from my limited experience the model "Coquille" (Shell), is typical of the late XVIIIth century among the most fortuned. Usually, the most common models are Uniplat and Filets, while Coquille are maybe 1 out of 30 you see on sale from that period, and are fetching quite the premium. Not because of the design, but because of the armorial bearings who comes along, since i believe only the prestigious families could afford it (i don't see any other reason, unless it simply was more trendy among high society?). So this Coquille design tips me it was ordered by richfags (well, all silverware was, but you see the point..).

It's only speculations, but so far everything looks like it could indeed have been part of a royal set. Though, to put it in perspective, please keep in mind kings' sets weren't regular sized. At this time it was 2,000 pieces per set. Supposed to be enough for royal banquets, and sustain the need for all the courtisans and guests!

Problem is idk how to confirm it. I'd need to have access to the archives/accounting book of the Versailles castle. And it's unlikely it's open to the public. Or if it still exist.

During the revolution, a good chunk of anything related to the royalty was burned down or looted. This is probably how pieces of this set ended up in the hands of randoms.
But if i indeed scored fucking royal silverware, i'm gonna jump to the ceiling. I'll probably auction it at an auction house, i've no idea how much stuff like this could fetch.. but it sure is a very rare and prestigious item.

Or maybe i'm completely wrong and i'm getting hyped over a nothingburger.
What do you think frens?

>which admittedly looks nicer to me. It's more of a subtle elegance rather than the antisemitic sledgehammer.
For memetic warfare purposes, i'll always prefer the big windmill, but i agree the Potsdam version have it's charm. My issue is with the flip side, not that i especially enjoy looking at fatboi Hidenburg, but the church alone makes the design look "empty". The issue is solved with the version with the march 1933 tiny windmills, which fill the blanks. But this version is much rarer (only 3 millions minted, versus close to 60M for the "empty" one) and thus expensive sadly. Hold dear on the dated version if you have any, me think they will go wild in the next few years price wise.

>I wonder how tight the market is and if /pmg/ might be the reason they're gone.
Pretty tight, it's estimated 90% of them got melted down by russians and the allies to "denazify" germans during the post-war occupation, and of course all the bars casted from reischmarks were sent back to Moscow / Jew York as tributes of war.

And i don't think /pmg/ had any impact whatsover. 4chin as a whole? Surely, to a certain extent. Me thik it's just talmudic fatigue all over the world who is taking it's toll, and the demand rise from everywhere. They boasted too hard and too violently about their absolute power. They made their agenda too blatant thinking those parasites had popular support. So the exhaustion pushed even popular voices to talk about the (((issue))). Surely Fuentes, Kanye and consorts pushed nazism to be more mainstream, and people to be less afraid of speaking up.
To me it's hard to see the difference, as i'm a nazi fanboy since i was a teen. Talked about the JQ in class in HS every day, greeting my frens and family with loud Sieg Heil, etc... so nobody around me is shocked about it to say the least kek.

I'm currently out of stock, but the 2RM is by FAR my best seller coin on my ebay shop. At first it was very calm, but lately it was a sale pretty much every day!

Wow frogbro, I see no flaws in your reasoning and agree that you could have lucked upon a very special set. I can't really find anything useful searching around in English and don't have the relevant experience to offer a useful opinion, but I agree that it would be unlikely for silversmiths to risk punishment or sanction for doing unauthorized engraving of the royal monogram so chances are promising that you have pieces looted from a palace during the revolution. Maybe you can find old written descriptions discussing how looted silverware and art might have been divided among revolutionaries? I wonder if leaders would have confiscated everything to sell abroad to fund their activities or if lots of such material got directly "redistributed"? From what I can tell from the pictures the monograms look appropriately worn, not like they were added years later to trick collectors (like we see with lots of fake Hitler and Eva Braun silverware). You will need to do more research and submit pictures to French experts or auction houses. If you find any other examples of Anthiaume articles bearing the same monogram which are provenanced and confirmed to be royal silver then you should start celebrating. Congrats fren, at the very worst you got good old silver at spot price, ya really can't lose following the scrapchad's enlightened path.

I just sampled the local (German) RM market. I looked at all the shops on gold.de, plus some others and even ebay and wrote down the numbers. This is not super rigorous or 100% accurate. There are shops I don't know about. I left out all ebay listings with one or few coins because ordering them that way is a hassle with shipping costs and calculating all that is too much work. This also only includes what is available online and I didn't check niche numismatic shops with even higher prices than listed here.

tl;dr:
windmill: 109, 19.50€/coin, total 2028€
church: ~1000, ~13€/coin, total ~13k€
hindenburg: ~1000, ~13€/coin, total ~13k€

Now I don't know how that compares with other coins or what kind of rarity those numbers might imply. But anyway, RM stock seem very low, even for the less desirable RMs.

At or below $19 would be a fair price right now

This is true. Practicing proper money management of trying to keep my checking accounts full, add to savings, add to my stock portfolio etc makes accumulating $2000 for an ounce of gold a 2 month ordeal. If I stop funding my other goals it becomes much easier. But in all honesty, aggressively stacking without concern for the short and medium term is a good way to impoverish yourself if you are not careful.

I would like to add a Brit gold to my collection, but there are so many more interesting choices too - E Caribbean 8 series, for example.

It's a cool coin,I wanted to get it, but couldn't afford it AND the other stuff I wanted more. Also, back side is confusing. If that side was better designed, I would have upped its priority.
