I would stack whatever silver is cheapest. But it's not a bad idea to also get one of each coin in a capsule.
For the gold, just skip the (high premium) 1 gram pieces and get a 20F gold coin instead. Those are 5.8 grams of gold. You could also switch out the 10 g bars for sovs (7.32 grams of gold). That will be a lot more interesting than plain bars.

This was the first of 2 Seated Liberty dimes I have managed to find with a metal detector, after digging a dozen mostly 1940s wheaties in that spot I figured the shallow 2-inch signal was another, felt like a taste of heaven when I saw what it was. I don't know anything about metal detectoring, but it's true that when i look after lots of dug up coins online, copper coins often are in much worse condition compared to their silver counterpart. The exception seems to be in semi-arid climate, as for anything else, dry soil tend to preserve copper way better i suppose?

Yeah generally speaking, if the arid regions don't have much salt or chemical activity in the soil then not much of the copper will have been converted to the green carbonate or other salts and they'll often have a nice brown to nearly black patina and smooth surfaces which make them a pleasure to clean. I believe some ancient coppers and bronzes could even be found with some mint luster left. I have some ancient Scythian arrowheads from the 4th century BC that must have been found in a dry cave because besides a few spots of corrosion they still displayed much of the original fresh shiny yellow color, and they even had remains of the ancient wood arrow shafts in their sockets!

On the flip side... in my dozen years of stacking, copper has gone up a bit less than twice as much. Back then pound bars were $7.50 and kilos were $15. It seemed cheap, and there were commercial vendors were aplenty. Nowadays there are no real copper vendors - only garage melters and some individuals selling the bars they bought back then. Thing is, they now charge $20 or more for a pound! The gold and the copper I have are still worth more than when I bought. Silver has done nothing (granted, it was $37/ozt when I started), but I don't care. I love silver and buy it because there's so much more art in the silver world. Get yourself an antique Congomongoloid copper "Katanga" cross ingot, if you hold out for a good deal then you can "make a few bucks on them" immediately. I bought 3 for $110 shipped, kept picrel which was the biggest and best, gave my dad the next one then sold the most niggardly little one for $140. I couldn't believe my eyes, so i investigated the matter, and so far everything matches.

First, all the royal hallmarks indicates me the set is from 1758, mid-reign of Louis XV. It was registered in Paris, where the castle of Versailles was ordering most it's furnitures and tablewares.
It was crafted by Jacques Anthiaume, who have several pieces exposed in the Louvres, the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, and the like.
And finally the royal monogram, the intertwined double L, was a royal privilege, copying it probably would have been a crime of lèse-majesty. And why would another family take the king's monogram rather than engraving their own family's heraldry/blason?
Last clue, of which is just personal observation, because infos online are very scarce, but from my limited experience the model "Coquille" (Shell), is typical of the late XVIIIth century among the most fortuned. Usually, the most common models are Uniplat and Filets, while Coquille are maybe 1 out of 30 you see on sale from that period, and are fetching quite the premium. Not because of the design, but because of the armorial bearings who comes along, since i believe only the prestigious families could afford it (i don't see any other reason, unless it simply was more trendy among high society?). So this Coquille design tips me it was ordered by richfags (well, all silverware was, but you see the point..).

It's only speculations, but so far everything looks like it could indeed have been part of a royal set. Though, to put it in perspective, please keep in mind kings' sets weren't regular sized. At this time it was 2,000 pieces per set. Supposed to be enough for royal banquets, and sustain the need for all the courtisans and guests!

For memetic warfare purposes, i'll always prefer the big windmill, but i agree the Potsdam version have it's charm. My issue is with the flip side, not that i especially enjoy looking at fatboi Hidenburg, but the church alone makes the design look "empty". The issue is solved with the version with the march 1933 tiny windmills, which fill the blanks. But this version is much rarer (only 3 millions minted, versus close to 60M for the "empty" one) and thus expensive sadly. I can't really find anything useful searching around in English and don't have the relevant experience to offer a useful opinion, but I agree that it would be unlikely for silversmiths to risk punishment or sanction for doing unauthorized engraving of the royal monogram so chances are promising that you have pieces looted from a palace during the revolution. Maybe you can find old written descriptions discussing how looted silverware and art might have been divided among revolutionaries? From what I can tell from the pictures the monograms look appropriately worn, not like they were added years later to trick collectors (like we see with lots of fake Hitler and Eva Braun silverware). If you find any other examples of Anthiaume articles bearing the same monogram which are provenanced and confirmed to be royal silver then you should start celebrating. I'm not so sure about /pmg/ not having any impact. I personally emptied entire shops of their RMs and same for some other anons. I mean I guess when there's only 100 left that isn't too difficult, but in that case it shows how few there are to go around - increasing the impact of /pmg/ autists slurping big time. Yeah, the 2RM with big windmills is still like 5€. Expensive in terms of premiums, but cheap overall.

Do you live in Germany? Becuz only german shops still have those prices (the rare times they aren't OOS lol). On ebay France i sell them back for 11-12€ a pop, which is the average price in most of Europe.

milk spots don't have anything to do with air exposure afaik so sealing them won't do anything. i guess it protects against regular tarnish but those capsules don't really seal air tight like a shrink wrap or similar would.

Question for you guys. I’m unironically packing my bags and leaving the US for good. Granted, I’m moving to one of our satellite states. My question is this: am I better off keeping some cash in USD or cashing it all out for PLN? Or does it not make a difference?

I just sampled the local (German) RM market. I looked at all the shops on gold.de, plus some others and even ebay and wrote down the numbers. This is not super rigorous or 100% accurate. There are shops I don't know about. I left out all ebay listings with one or few coins because ordering them that way is a hassle with shipping costs and calculating all that is too much work. This also only includes what is available online and I didn't check niche numismatic shops with even higher prices than listed here.

tl;dr:
windmill: 109, 19.50€/coin, total 2028€
church: ~1000, ~13€/coin, total ~13k€
hindenburg: ~1000, ~13€/coin, total ~13k€

Now I don't know how that compares with other coins or what kind of rarity those numbers might imply. But anyway, RM stock seem very low, even for the less desirable RMs.

$1 in 'junk' change weighs less a full troy ounce. They are also not 99.9% Ag.
Assuming no wear from use, a 90% dime contains 0.0723 ozt Ag, a quarter: 0.1808, and a half-dollar: 0.36169.
At the current spot price of $23.16/ozt (per Yahoo) of .999 Ag, $1 of 90% coinage has 0.723 ozt Ag worth $16.74.
That's the lowest reasonable price. Your tolerance for any premium above that is your guide. The lowest I've seen recently was $189/$10 face.

This is true. Practicing proper money management of trying to keep my checking accounts full, add to savings, add to my stock portfolio etc makes accumulating $2000 for an ounce of gold a 2 month ordeal. If I stop funding my other goals it becomes much easier. But in all honesty, aggressively stacking without concern for the short and medium term is a good way to impoverish yourself if you are not careful.
