The HR at the company I work for just makes people listen to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion presentations for 8 hours straight. I left at the halfway point and got an angry email the next day. I'll buy my own food thanks

At my office, we had one of the upper managers doing that, he would go to the fridge at the end of the day and eat anything left in there. Another manager caught him eating his food so he made him buy lunch, the guy never got fired.

I don't know if it's a special case or not, but I have a friend who works as a cook at Applebee's and he tells me that they allow him to cook his own employee meal. He claims that he can make whatever he wants to eat. Either they allow employees to do this everywhere or they have really lax management. Regardless, I think he has a good thing going. That seems like an incredible job perk to me.
