So if Chainlink is a real, legitimate software company with real products, real world cash flows etc. why did they not go public like any other American software company, with an IPO, all of the proper regulatory filings and disclosures and protections for investors?

Instead, they ran away to the Caymans, similar to FTX, issued an illegal funding token called LINK (which is in violation of almost every SEC rule in the book) and raised money from the public with no legal strings attached, or even any basic filings, which is 100% illegal?

Help me understand.

this is like asking why the internet didn't go public

it's an open source protocol

But that's stupid and not even remotely analogous.

The internet didn't have a staekholder in the Caymans holding 60% of some "internet token" which it used to dump on the public to raise money.

What the fuck kind of industrial adhesives have you been smoking to come up with this delusional horseshit?

Na it's just got Cloudflare, AWS and others that hold it up.

>gimp chainlink to destroy FSS and re-enpower rent seeking MEV because Jews gonna Jew
No Fren. This is a new paradigm model of business. The Jews can't just buy it.

So you're saying... Token Not Needed?

Incorrect.

because their business model is getting in front of and along side as many legitimate entities as possible in order to create the exit liquidity needed to dump billions of dollars of their useless premined token.

think about this: if chainlink was even slightly confident about their future financial success, why would they be selling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of link at $6 when it would have been billions of dollars worth at the top?

2017 was a whole different market for new crypto projects. Keep in mind they started on this years ago before 2017 and regulatory shenanigans weren't on anyone's mind.
Chainlink ICO was done without a KYC, you just send ETH to some contract address and receive LINK.
This approach was already unimaginable by mid 2018 when a lot of things concerning ICOs changed dramatically.

yeah, which is why people that think these institutions will go anywhere near the token are delusional. the best a baggie can hope for are these companies paying chainlink the company directly, leaving it up to them how (if) they disseminate this wealth to bagholders (which they can't as buybacks for tokens aren't legal)
