What is wrong with them?

here in America, we have a thing called Private Property, and Private Property rights.

It is a foundational block of what our country was built on.
don't like it?
get the fuck out!
simple as

(there is more than enough Public Lands top provide for things like roads, trails, camping, everything you could imagine.)

Kek this isn't even true. The king did not own the colonies, and Britain lost control of them in the end anyways. Go lick boots somewhere else.

maybe in homogenous society I might give a fuck, but not in fucking borgerland. I don't even care about these rich yuppies, it is private property and their rights have to respected. No amount ofjourno seething is going to change that.
Also walkable cities and planning has to come from the government, not at the cost of citizens.
Fucking kill yourself commmie.

The planning did come from the government retard, doesnt change the fact that they still have to use parts of private property to make a sensible path, of course not for free, but if people say they want walkable shit but then dont make place for it, be it

This. Everything should be privatized at this point. The Government is terrible and needs to be destroyed.

>> No.56177784

They are a nefarious plot though. Safe real estate in dense "walkable" cities ends up being more expensive than safe real estate in less dense areas + expenses of owning a car (well, unless you get really dumb on your auto purchases). Basically designed to turn you into a perma renter rather than land owner. Walkable cities with public transit also make it easier for the criminal fraction to access your property. That whole 15 min city thing also significantly reduces the amount potential employers you can work at (well, unless you have WFH type job, but then, why live in big city at all?), number of places you can shop at, and schools your children can attend. Restricting those sorts of things that are very appealing to the controlling types that enter urban politics.

private property is private property

Older people have more time to accumulate wealth than younger people + property was cheaper relative to income years ago when they bought; same amount of land was around, but less people. Plus, there is some selection bias here; younger people who do own property are less likely to show up at these sorts of meetings.

>boomers relying on a physical impossibility to save their real estate bags

Unless solid state batteries have a massive breakthrough in manufacturing affordability, car-dependent suburbs are going to evaporate once it becomes unsustainable to maintain. Not even from a "MUH climate" perspective but just from the oil market. SPR release is the only thing keeping gas under $10/gal. Since the Ukraine war started, we're down to half the SPR stock. With the commitment of "war for longer" in Ukraine, how long until this starts hurting the American consumer? Most don't remember that the rapid implosion of 2008 was preceded by a jump in oil prices, squeezing the wagies enough they started to default on their meme mortgages.

I specifically chose to live outside of walking range of non-whites as a barrier. You must be a sufficient enough human being to own a means of personal transportation capable of highway speeds to approach my dwelling from your poverty infected, shit filled hell hole city. This ensures the absolute low life nocars stay the fuck away from me while I sleep in peace and quiet at night.

>path through private property
The area I live has bike paths everywhere because uhh.... they're not on private property, they're on the ~10 feet closest to the road that the government already owned. I'm in Michigan too, not that far from this area. Weird plan from the start, why would people agree to it?

>> No.56179592

>>56178996
Some places like to have suburban developments with all sorts of awkwardly laid out roads & cul de sacs, that mean any sort of walking or bike path will need to cut across private property to have routes short enough that people would actually use them. If we would just require suburbs to be laid out in basic grid patterns with some sidewalks near the road, they would be just fine for cars and still be reasonably walkable.
