Thanks, it was a bit of a restorative process. When I first found it it was covered in dust, especially the velvet.

Carefully took the coin out, wiped the outer shell and creme-colored fabric down (special caution was given to the South African Mint monogram because it looked like it could possibly flake off), and very gingerly patted down the velvet with some masking tape which took a lot of the loose particles off.
I didn't keep the coin in the case after that just out of fear of it rubbing against the velvet unshielded.
Picrel is the before and after with the velvet, I think I fiddled with the velvet a bit more after the pic to make it look monochromatic.

The coin was also ridded with both loose and somewhat stuck on dust particles.
If you were here a few months ago I posted about the process of treating it with acetone. It ended up looking very nice after that, the dust was knocked off and it made the coin a lot less cloudy. Here is a later pic of the coin quickly put back in the case for a cheeky picture.

I was talking here earlier this week that the coin was undergoing its final stages of grading at PCGS. Very coincidentally, I got the verdict back about half an hour ago.

It has been given the grade of PR65 DCAM, making it the single finest Rhodesian pound of 164 total submissions between PCGS and NGC (at least in terms of the DCAM designation, of which it is the only one. There are a few higher numerical grade ones that are in the lower CAM category). I will post the professional pictures once they are able to upload them.

>Very based coin frogbro, how did you obtain that one?
Ebay, i believe i won the auction for 150€. Pretty comfy deal considering the condition. Pinto was the Grand Master of the order back then, which itself was the successor of the Hospitalier's Order. I thought it was pretty neat to have a coin related to the templars in some fashion.

>saw a cleaned and lower grade example that sold for over $130+shipping on ebay, this one is definitely better so might be a $200 coin for less than $2
Wow that's fucking sick! Even by your standards it must be in your top 5 best deal ever, right? I can only dream of something like that. Congrats scrapfren, you are putting the bar always higher.

On my end of numischeapie, nothing that extravagant, but i got those 2 Newfoundland 50c silver coins in a lot, for basically spot. I'm sure you'll immediately figure out which country/province it's reffering to. They aren't worth a fortune, but still happy about it!

Those are strange, but look similar to pre-unification German or older Austro-Hungarian Central/Eastern European hallmarks. I think your pic is upside-down, and I think the marks on the left in your pic might be the most important ones. The marks don't really look like the pseudo-hallmarks used in England on old plated articles so my spidey-senses say it could be a good piece of 12 or 13 Loth silver, but we need better pics of the piece, hallmarks and pics of the feet/bottom where it has the most wear to evaluate further. Sorry, I was just loosely spouting my autistic opinions before.

i think the 2023 ASEs will float up to hold the same or similar premiums as the typical ASEs.
The ASE is still highly valued, recognized and sought after for all the same reasons it always has been.
i think the average mainstream purchaser/holder of ASEs is not significantly bothered by the design change if they even notice.
Generally, I don't like "Royals" like the queen on coins like the Maple, the Britannia and the Kookaburra either, but that doesn't stop them from still being highly valuable, recognized and sought after.

if you can get a good deal on any ASEs, and you think its what you want to do, its probably a good idea to pull the trigger on it.

Cool matey.
I've just recently switched from stacking canned food, to brass, to now silver andit's been a fun little learning curve.
What's the meta for a poorfag?
I reckon stack a monster box of silver rounds and then exchange that for gold eventually? I feel like fractional gold is beneath even me but the idea of just keeping cash in a checking acct to buy an ounce of gold gets murked by "opportunity cost" aka splurging at the grocery store. Like for real. A 1/10 oz gold coin? Or even worse, grams. It's not just the premiums, but the desirability, right? Let's be honest though, this shit's never gonna get traded in the end and will end up getting citizen asset forfitured, but also, a fun little thought to keep the will for battle against evil going

You can't go wrong with buying any of the main sovereign mint coins. Technically there is some minor premium recoup for some locally desired coins, if you're planning to sell in the short term. But in the long term, those premiums will be an insignificant fraction compared to the value of the metal itself. At least for run of the mill bullion coins (not numismatics).
The majority of my silver coins are noah's arks, and they're not even minted in armenia. But they're cheap and I like them. I also bought britannias and wieners when they were cheap. I just buy cheapies, that way I can stack moar.

They don't care if you are interested or not. If they require your taxes to be paid in neo-fedbux, you will have to get your hands on neo-fedbux, period.
But of course it will be limited to national boundaries, for external trades, another currency will be required.
I believe we will see 2 currencies : one for international trades, not accessible to the public and giving some guarantees to commercial partners (could be a basket of commodities), and one for the US residents, complete garbage inflationary at will (((they))) have total control over.
Then an exchange system with floating rates will allow you to exchange your within-fedbux into outside-fedbux if you need some (with heavy restrictions and/or taxation of course). Of course your always depreciating within-fedbux will be worth always less outside-fedbux as time goes on. Just like your USD is worth always less gold over time.

>I believe we will see 2 currencies : one for international trades, not accessible to the public and giving some guarantees to commercial partners (could be a basket of commodities)
There's no point to having a currency then, large entities(nation state's or multinational corporations) can afford to settle directly in the commodities backing the currency, especially if its simply metals as storage wouldn't be much of an issue.
>one for the US residents, complete garbage inflationary at will (((they))) have total control over.
You should bother reading some history on the subject before making spergy statements like this; introduction of a fiat currency to stop the spiral of another might quell the panic for a brief time, that is until everyone realizes they've been handed a bunch of worthless paper all over again. Really all this does is further inflame the populace, and in their agitation they rush to get rid of their new paper faster than they had with the previous fiat. Their fears can only be mollified by the introduction of sound money, whether this comes by private or public means is anyone's guess.

Ah yes, my bad, i forgot how well educated the populace is when it comes to money, and how brave they are when it's about fighting banksters' tyranny. They surely wont endure another form of fiat without a fight. Oh no! Not this time around my good sir!

They've found Roman coinage as far as Japan, the Romans also adored Chinese silk, its not surprising that their coins would be found in India. Rome wasn't call mistress of the world for nothing.

Who do you think participates in international trade? That's right, vast swaths of the public. They will pay and be paid in whatever currency is used in their business. There is no way to isolate domestic markets from international markets. The USD is going to be toast, the American domination of world finance is coming to an end, and when the US government can no longer create usable money from thin air, its world empire and domestic power will crash. No crypto-boy fantasy money will replace it.

They can do business in any currency they want but ultimately settlement will have to be done with something valuable. Either by exporting something of equal value, can be oil, machines, gold or whatever. This will happen with or without CBDC. Just look at the Saudis getting gold for their oil from China.

Just take real money and exchange some for fedbux to pay taxes. At least right now this is perfectly legal and not very hard to do. If the new currency is so bad people actually start doing this the loophole might be closed, however.
