With the bitcoin halving coming up, some smaller bitcoin miners might be looking for alternative ways to use their rigs. If ZK is here to stay, then generating zk proofs from protocols outsourcing them is the way the market is going to go. At the moment, zk proofs are processed on the protocol user's device which takes a while on a PC and is a problem as mobile usage grows. The way to fix this is hardware acceleration by outsourcing the proofs via a zk prover market such as the one Marlin is developing that leverages Oyster which allows for secure, serverless, and confidential zk proof generation on ASICs, GPUs, and FPGAs. Maybe someone will appreciate this info on this garbage dump.

This info could have been really cool about two years ago I'm fairly certain most miners either killed themselves or sold off their hardware at this point. ZK came in a little too late.

but mining already provides diminishing return imagine having to rent a middleman to even be able to rig. what's the point then.

You only outsource the zk proof, retard. Not all labor is done by external hardware.

bitcoin always gives diminishing returns each halving cycle so I dunno maybe if there's still some people interested they could look into this particular niche. Don't expect any sort of explosive adoption outta nowhere though.

ZK is quite literally not needed. There's way to encrypt your data without having to own a full on mining rig to do so.

Say what? ETH mining died ever since it became a PoS coin. What the fuck are you talking about?

Most of them sold their miners, yes.
Now it's all controlled by a few mining companies that make a lot of money through BTC mining. Ironically though this means that only a few people will be able to compete and validate transactions, making BTC a much more centralized network as a result.

If all goes according to plan we are looking at another x10 at the very least anyway. Who fucking cares. It has a limit (boiling point) for sure and we are approaching it but we are still decades away from the last stretch.

why would anyone who's already mining bitcoin start outsourcing ZK proofs? even if the next halving makes it really hard to get some BTC I'm sure it's sill going to be consistently profitable if it goes up in price again
