I bought a few 30Y TIPs in my IRA. 2% real yield, no tax.
I can sell it for immediate profit if real yields flip negative again, or if we get some risk-off panic selling period where stocks dump and bonds get bid.

For the most part I think bonds are trash though. If you want safety it makes no sense to take duration risk. Yields tend to be lower than stocks. A lot of the bidding comes from mandates in pension/insurance funds, and from foreign trade partners. Then there are the suckers that think 60/40 is a permanent portfolio solution.

I'm still stuck in the copper trade is over. Frankly I feel like palladium should be doing better but feels like it might be driven by the "cars are OVER" narrative a bit.

I'd like to buy more energy stocks though outside of uranium, but I don't feel good enough about the longterm outlook of oil atm and I'm not familiar with the commodity side of the rest of energy. I plan to pivout out of uranium itself into the tech side if we ever come out of rate tightening, but I think the commodity itself is the safest best

The idea that lockdowns were unpopular came from conservatives who were mad about not being able to go to applebees, everyone loved the stimulus, the extended unemployment, the working from home. Kids aren't better off in classes compared to zoom class at home anyway, a lot of people bought homes for WFH work and don't want to move back into decaying cities. Inflation being sticky is a result of return to office mandates, no one needs to drive to work to attend zoom meetings and fuck around in excel. We need deflationary lockdowns with QE, and we will have them.

All are pretty solid companies when you evaluate it from a value investing standpoint, and I'm currently of the mindset that value investing is the only way to make any consistent money in the next few years. The benefits of a non lockdown economy are no longer here, eating out sucks and schools are having to move to 4 day schedules and dont have enough bus drivers. Lockdowns were super fucking unpopular you colossal idiot even amongst the liberals there were grumblings about the impact it would have financially and economically and it did in fact shitdick the large population centers. The stimulus was enjoyed but ultimately nowhere near enough compared to PPP loan fraud which was rampant and oft-forgiven. The extended unemployment was unsustainable, the rent moratoriums were unsustainable, the working from home is fine and honestly more people should do it but it's still currently unsustainable due to how upside down large businesses are on leases and that's not just me saying it, it's the businesses. I do know what will happen that is deflationary so I'm not all that concerned about the future, but nobody wants or needs lockdowns from a financial standpoint. The whole of the south giving all of it the collective finger is what carried the fucking country through this shitscape of policy, even the liberals up north aren't down to do it all over again and I've seen the coof narrative chill the fuck out everywhere I've looked. It's stale cope and you need to find new cope, the market is ready for a bear market of its own making and it won't have jack shit to do with lockdowns because they broadly won't happen.
