Dom replied to the previous thread which warns about the grave danger ICP is heading towards on twitter today

>See sober discussion node rewards by researcher. They're only 16% overall rewards today (referencing https://forum.dfinity.org/t/handling-of-node-provider-rewards/23065))

>Plus, market sell pressure mostly not rewards, but e.g Strategic Round, or members of public from 2017 Seed Round who bought 25% supply at 3 cents. These will exhaust

Dom's response seems to tactfully sidestep and perhaps oversimplify the market pressures stemming from the strategic round and 2017 seed investors. While I concede that these short-term influences undoubtedly contribute to sell pressures, there appears to be a larger issue at hand that hasn't been fully addressed.

Either Dom missed the main point of the discussion or chose to overlook a glaring concern facing ICP: a significant design flaw in its tokenomics. By guaranteeing node providers a fixed dollar amount, which necessitates the minting of variable ICP quantities depending on its current market price, the system is inadvertently opening the door to spiraling inflation. This differs from conventional Proof-of-Stake blockchains.

Such a mechanism might persistently drag down ICP's value, irrespective of early investors' actions or any other group dynamics. While the market could potentially adapt to sporadic sell-offs from particular rounds, the long-term consequences of ICP's inherent reward design cannot be ignored.

I understand that the original architects of ICP likely never anticipated the price plummeting to these levels, which could explain the oversight in foreseeing the risk of hyperinflation. Yet, with ICP struggling to regain its $3 mark and the price continuing to slide, the looming threat of hyperinflation becomes an ever more pressing reality.

Something NEEDS to change to save the Internet Computer if prices keep falling.

market prediction y'all

>> No.56123195

I will be completely honest now.
I think all of us, ICP holders, deserve a death spiral now, think about it, this token has been the shittiest most uncomfortable hold since I boughted GME (now I bought Link which I hope is my 3rd LAST mistake).
I think I have something in me that drags me to those failed investments where I keep clinging to something that will not happen (price increase) and simply get too exhausted to keep holding, there is no good words that will make me feel good about ICP's project after I already saw the price going from those 40's where I started buying, then I thought 15 was a good entry point, then it was 6, now we are at 3 DOLLARS (HIGHLY INFLATIONAL DOLLARS).

Why did I say I and all other ICP holders we deserve this death spiral. It would be the greatest way that we can exit this coin, imagine this, we were been lied to since the moonman days and kept going goin going. We fucking deserve a magical death spiral to crash us so hard that maybe, MAYBE, we learn the lesson for our future investments.

I am 100% hopeless on this project, there is nothing left for us, even the fudders probably already are not laughing anymore and are even just thinking about how sad it is. It is sad, very sad.

ICP:
>run a node for profit risk free
>never worry about new node providers out-competing you
>dump ICP as soon as it hits your wallet because you have no stake in the success of the token

Bitcorn:
>Invest in top-of-the-line ASIC machine with a big risk that you won't ever mint a single BTC
>Compete with the globe for the chance of a block reward
>Hold any BTC that you've mined for the price that you know it will it at a later date due to halvenings.

Gee whiz guys, we can't figure out why -- despite the marketcap staying high -- ICP's price keeps going down. No worries though, only 17% of the rewards given are given to node providers!! (wait, 73% of the rewards given out are passed to people who participate in governance?)

Not worried, considering how far ETH has come in 10 years, despite ETH foundation almost went bankrupt twice.

Eth foundation collected bitcoin during the crowd sale, when bitcoin fell, it almost wiped out the treasuries. The code was buggy, no funding to check for vurnabilities which lead to the DAO hack, this event should have killed ETH but it didn't.

ICP has flawed bidenomics, and proposals are being made. As long, ICP keeps making ground-breaking innovations, and focus on security, ICP will keep making other chains obsolete.

I owned a lot of ethereum, it had all the hallmarks of a scam from satoshi's perspective, premine, infinite supply, BDFL, crowdsale, it succeeded despite all the odds. ETH should be $0 but here we are.

Ethereum succeeded because erc-token standard onboarded a lot of new users to crowdfund new protocols for the Ethereum ecosystem. ICP is exciting, it allows users to crowdfund not just tokenized protocols but websites, games, music directly onchain, governed by a D.A.O, opening new markets that do not exist yet.

>>56127309
because its projected by 2030 that the IC is matured and hosting hundreds of thousands of websites/dapps. that means millions of ICP being burned yearly. every website deployed needs ICP to be powered. you burn ICP which become cycles. you use those cycles to top up your canister/smart contract and viola your website is live running completely from the blockchain.

The funny thing is even node ops wont stay above water for long. When each node is paid 20 million icp which they dump on the market and the coin is .000002 cents no one will buy. Theyll be trying to sell but no one will buy it so whay will dfinity do then? They arent making any revenue. Its you guys buying the coin allowing them to dump. Dfinity holds enough coins to vote any proposal how they want. What they NEED to do is submit a vote to change the node payments and then pass it. They will take one of 3 routes 1) control the vote and fuck over NOPs who leave the network forcing dfinity to run it using the money they made dumping to avoid jailtime for defrauding investors, this will kill any centralization claims. But the network can hobble along while they try to get adoption 2) they let it deathspiral but start spinning up their own nodes and tell existing NOPs hey, sorry youre being kicked from the network and replaced. Same reward and inflation problem, same centralization problem. But they can stop node op dumping this way and ensure only retail investors are contributing to the spiral. Either way with those two solutions, the mask is off. This is centralized tech and will die without adoption from enterprises who bring revenue and create token burn. 3) do nothing and this scam dies and becomes a bitter memory. Hopefully SEC takes what they made as penalties. Dfinity is still centralized and a scam but they wash their hands of it and pretend its not and its at least less obvious that it is one.

Either way, this shit is done. Its GRT level. We are going to be lucky to get to 10 dollars. 100? Never happening. 1000? LOL.

Countries like China, Russia, they don't care about DMCA.
ICP is the only chain with an extensive functionality set right out the box, http outcalls no need for oracles, built-in index and query, and no need for a separate protocol that only does indexing.

Legit innovators like Dominic Williams are being called scammers tells you a lot about the people who call themselves 'investors'. Before Dfinity formed before Dfinity was renamed to ICP. The coordinated fud on the best tech in crypto has exceeded all expectations. I never thought we'd be accumulating at these levels. Excellent work all around gentlemen.
You all know what to do in the next phase. Look for the baboons claw, that will be your cue.

I’m going to keep buying even more if we continue to go lower, doesn’t really matter though because I’m content with my current stack so either up or down and I’m chill. I would like at least till the end of the year to keep buying this low though. Man we have come a long way, I remember before I even started buying I prayed multiple times that I would be able to afford a 1k stack, ask and you shall receive.

Fundamentals ain't changed. Icp is the best tech in crypto. Nobody can dump forever. I'm dumping whole ass paychecks into ICP until we're back over $100. Could be 5 months. Could be 5 years. No matter what I'm walking away a multimillionaire. Set for life. Big titty pimping. The fundamentals ain't changed big dog. Icp mogs all other cryptos to the point of embarrassment. We will have our day in the sun and it shall be glorious. Truly such a blessing to sow seeds at these levels and accumulate. The harvest will be bountiful and girthy. IM THROBBING WITH ANTICIPATION just thinking about it. Eth 2017. Btc 2010. This is the now. And I am. And so are you. All shall bend the knee to ICP. So it has been foretold so it shall be. The schizo ramblings of prophecy vibe uncertain until rapture. But then it will be to late. Pee. Pee as far as the I can see.
