What's the point of stacking silver? I don't get the silver ends the fed meme. If you're looking to condense as much of your wealth as possible into the smallest volume in a way that doesn't tarnish or deteriorate over time, wouldn't gold be the best option every time?

Prices arise out of an interplay between supply and demand. Growing industrial demand means rising prices unless met with increased supply. Because silver is a finite resource, increasing demand will result in higher prices.

However, silver prices currently are being manipulated. Ultimately, sufficient tension between supply and demand will break the manipulation. That is likely to slingshot silver prices upwards.

Inflation is complicated because it doesn't enter the market evenly. But keep in mind that it isn't the value of goods and services going up with inflation, it is the value of the money going down. So, from a pure inflation perspective, ignoring other market factors, silver and gold prices would move in the same way.

ever wonder why theres no onion futures? probably not
Anyway, your hunt bros squeeze does not reflect any market fundamentals. Anytime that is brought in as a true measure of the value of silver, you can comfortably dismiss anything that writer has to say. Gaslighting their way to buy from them, or store your metals with them is usually the end goal of these writers. Im sorry you fell for it. Objectively, gold has outperformed silver historically. You can buy silver because of supply or moonshot potential, but you cannot ever make a good case its a great store of value or even tracks inflation. It does not track inflation at all. Your essential argument is that if you have a crystal ball, you can buy at troughs and sell at peaks and potentially, theoretically come out ahead. While also preaching DCA. Ive stepped away from silver in thee last few years. Its more speculative, for schemers. The whole covid bump "squeeze" was merely the arbitrage between london and new york bars not being equal and not interchangeable. Dealers sold this "squeeze" shit as hard as they could and cashed in big time. looking back, I should have sold all my silver. I could have cashed in. But thats not normal human psychology. It was the end of the world and the end of monetary system after all. Now when the next huge pump happens, are you going to go out and sell everything?

This is hype. Don't buy the hype. Buy the cheapies when they come. I stopped buying last fall when they pulled that silversqueeze stunt, and the dealers premiums shot up. I didn't buy again until the next cheapies (March) and then not until the next cheapies (July). Now I'm waiting for another dip. Hopefully soon, but I'm patient and will wait.

> Now when the next huge pump happens, are you going to go out and sell everything?
Sell silver(=money) for what exactly? It doesn't really make sense. Once you have real money, you keep it until you want to buy something.

i never claimed that, im not sure if youre trying to be funny gaslighting me or not on that. anyway, besides the obvious, why 1971 is important is the government took the brakes off gold, they let the market set the price, and in the resulting decades, it exploded. They did that to silver back in the mid 1800s i think. Are we really wanting the government to tell us what are metals are worth? they did that for hundreds of years with the GSR. Im discouraged you trust the governments if you do believe that. The GSR is arbitrary number they changed at whim to suit their needs, read up on sir newton. i wonder what number they would pick this time.

the main problem with pms is they hard to deal with. the settlement mechanisms are not as beautifully simplistic as USTs. King dollar rules the world in ease of use and demand. It will strengthen beyond what you think is possible. It will never strengthen when it keeps on being inflated with money creation. Nations are only screaming for USD because OPEC oil is marked up in it by agreement. We all know that's coming to an end in the next decade with BRICS and the US will soon find out the true value of its USD when the ones being held by foreign nations have a spending spree, buying up land and commodities in mass.

Government doesn't set prices. They can set fixed exchange rates for their currency for one thing but nothing more. Yes, they can try to set prices but that just leads to shortages and arbitrage opportunities. Bimetallism can only work with a floating exchange rate according to market value. Whether it's based on gold or silver doesn't really matter but I guess gold makes more sense because silver is more useful industrially.

there is a belief out there that there is a coordinated effort to destroy the dollar. youll find articles of de-dollarization where sovereign nations are using their local currency to do world trade. No other nation comes remotely close to what the dollar is doing. The dollar provides liquidity. Thats the important part. No other nation can put together a system of debt and currency issuance. I think many people seem to misunderstand whats going on with the de-dollarization. Give meaning behind something, and it will change your reality. If you believe the de-dollarization movement is taking place and the dollar is bad and is going to fail, and youre not going to have a future life if you stay in it, your subconscious will start to react to that information. If you believe the housing market will crash you might stay in an apartment. When nations are doing transactions outside the dollar, they are forced to. They might say they are choosing to, but they are because of the dollar shortage taking place. And they usually quietly exchange whatever currency for USD anyway later. Yes, there is a dollar shortage taking place. Its the feds liabilities. The demand for the feds liabilities is intense. It will blow your mind. Write a contract. Payable in gold. No one knows about it. Think about the amont of contracts written that needs gold. No one knows how many contracts exist, and no one knows how much gold is needed. The only thing we know is there is far more contracts than gold. Same thing ffor dollars. No one knows, its an insane number. No one knows how many contracts are due in dollars. Everyone is looking for USD and everyone else is hording them. Whats really happening is there is not enough liquidity to do all the transactions.

BRICS for example is going to have six new members next year, with some of them being critical to western global trade such as Egypt with the Suez Canal and oil with Saudi Arabia. The funny thing about being a global empire implementing sanctions is that it is a double edge sword. Do it enough times and you sanction yourself. when the dollar was first a thing with the fed, with an elastic money supply, they were there to provide liquidity, currency to facilitate all the trades. And then when the economy slowed down, they would pull all that money back. It was created to deal with the boom and bust system, because the more transaction, the more need for currency, and the more hoarding of wealth happenes at the same tiime. When the most industrious among us start to accumulate their profits, the gold, the currency, that deprives the rest of us, and the fed would interject money to keep the commerce flow going. he world loved it. Went crazy over it. They started exchanging gold for USD, because what was important was transactions could continue and the spice could flow. It provided the liquidity, what was important. Well it came to august of 71 and they wanted to trade all those dollars for gold. Now they wanted security instead of liquidity. The US had to go into massive debt to supply all of this. The Triffin paradox. How do you supply the world a currency when you are an exporter of goods? You have to buy their shit. Thats why the US moved from a manufacturing base to a consumer. We started selling off massive amounts of debt and living like kings. The cantillion effect. which says manufacturing and bringing in new stuff elevates your standard of living and leads you to poverty unless you figure out a way to bring new money in. then greshams law kicked in which is bad money chasing now good. The end of the gold standard was because it was all hoarded. Same thing is happening with dollars, everyone is hoarding dollars, and when you have a different currency used, thats the BAD currency
. Bad chasing out good. A new currency is introduced that seems good, but its not. But the people are convinced of it. Triffens delima, cantillion effect, and greshams law, the coordinated effort is to fool you into thinking the dollar is failing. Dollars are getting harder to find

China is not going to do that. It’s a pointless exercise. Such a fire sale would be aimed at hurting the value of US Treasuries, thereby causing yields to spike. That would be a big deal because the 10-year Treasury rate serves as the benchmark for other forms of credit. Borrowing costs on everything from auto loans and mortgages to business debt would surge. A fire sale would cause its own holdings to lose value. that would reduce the amount of foreign reserves Beijing has at its disposal to defend its currency and maintain financial stability. China also has limited alternatives for what to do with all its excess cash. And holding onto the cash would risk allowing China’s own currency to strengthen too much, which tends to be deflationary. Its nuclear option that would make their largest and most important trade partner, the US not be able to buy all their shit anymore.

Deflation is seen as bad because it can destroy corporate profits due to employee's wages getting stronger, thus kickstarting redundancies which in tern creates less spending in the economy. Personally I view deflation as the economy correcting itself by getting rid of pointless business ventures. Keynesians hate it because they believe in infinite growth in a finite world which is why they do not give a shit about stealing from the future with ever increasing fiat credit.

>hunt bros squeeze does not reflect any market fundamentals.

Nor does gold's price of $35 in 1971 reflect any market fundamentals. Anytime that is brought in as the starting point to demonstrate the performance of gold, or whenever future projections of gold's potential performance are made which draw from the price action of the metal immediately after the overly abused and unsustainable 1933-1971 $35/oz price peg broke, you can comfortably dismiss anything that writer has to say as well.

Yes, objectively over the span of 3 centuries the GSR has mooned from 1:15-17 to as high as 1:120, but since the globally coordinated demonetization of silver in the 1870s it periodically falls to 1:30 or lower in times of geopolitical, economic or monetary uncertainty. I find the notions proposed by some goldbugs here that the GSR will continue on that anomalous trajectory and reach 1:300 or higher just as absurd as the Bix Weirdoids claiming the GSR will crash to 1:5 or 1:1. If one is a chucklehead and buys silver high/DCAs when the ratio is low then it is a poor store of value indeed, but I don't preach DCAing or promote FOMO. I bought gobs at under 14.80/oz with premium in 2020 (a ratio of 1:100 with the cost of physical gold at the time) and since then have almost exclusively stacked below-spot cheapies as a sort of gainful hobby, not easily replicable by others but perfectly valid and lucrative nonetheless. I agree it's a more volatile and speculative metal, so if you don't have a knack for timing, don't know how to recapture premiums, sell profitably, or can't figure out how to efficiently buy at good prices then perhaps one should just stick to gold. I have no such issues so will continue preferencing the superior ROI which silver provides me. Every person, circumstance and strategy is different so Godspeed following the golden path if that works best for you, but for me it's silver.

It will happen because whoever has the gold makes the rules. Every new system is designed by the people that previously fucked the old system into oblivion through their greed and psychopathy. What makes you think it is going to change this time?

>Gold is now legally declared money
>overnight dollars are suddenly worth 95% less
>Nobody cares about silver because it's an "industrial metal"
>Everybody needs gold now, everybody is begging for gold
>Who has all the gold? Unsurprisingly the people that planned and created the whole mess.

Do the people that globally coordinated the demonetization of silver in the 1870's ever want silver to be money again. It didn't benefit them 150 years ago, why would they want it to be money now?

There will be zero contention when 1 economic block is incapable of procuring enough people to keep pressure on money velocity, it will slow down and that’s how the dollar will die. Picking a fight with a population disadvantage is also an obvious fail.

I saw that exact ratio floated by some dingus here within the last week or so fren, and besides other instances I can't recall well enough to place on a timeline I saw "1:200-1:300" proposed 2.5 years ago here. It's been a consistent albeit low-key figure likely representing a facet of some goldbugs' delusional moonboi hopium arsenal, dunno where they're getting it from though.

>>56092288
>It will happen

It *could* happen, but counterbalancing the support for gold by those demoralized goldbugs who may be quite happy to bend over and spread wide for their circumcised gold-hoarding masters, broad distributed communities of individuals who have constructed alternate value/exchange systems around cryptos, farm commodities, silver, gold and other practical resources also exist. My observations have shown that typical goldbugs and late-adopter crypto-lemmings tend to be more conventional, materially/physically unproductive and unimaginative people, often in administrative or makework paper-pushing roles. Radical individuals, schizos, Cletuses and all manner of dynamic misfits tend to occupy the diverse range of people who shy away from that externally imposed top-down status-quo and may well complicate the plans of those who have come to crave the golden chains their prospective masters are crafting for them. We'll see, but in the meantime I'll persist in unassailable comfiness stacking my favorite metal. Gold is great but has never really resonated with or compelled me as much, I must not have enough Shlomos lurking in the family tree for it to have a noticeable effect.

the fud campaign you are waging against silver here seems to be solely predicated on the wall streetsilver squeeze hype from 2 years ago. almost every serious stacking anon on pmg has said the same basic things

interesting., I remember watching some YT videos from this group who regularly explored old mines in the American SW. a few of there videos show mines with alot of the old infrastructure sill mostly in place and some of them had the remains of the old Ball Mills. some of the balls looked like size of an old cannon ball, maybe 4 to 6 inches in diameter.
these were placed right outside near the entrance to the mine, like within a few hundred feet of it, or as clos as possible.
now it makes perfect sense with your book is describing it

While it's true that the alchemists of old thought the resemblance was sufficient reason to try boiling countless gallons urine down into the coveted Philosopher's Stone, their misguided search for an unlimited gold hack led to the accidental discovery of Phosphorus which is a pretty cool outcome.

Anyway there is nothing wrong with having a personal favorite, but the fact that both metals are eternal and literally go hand in hand has been known and revered for millennia. On some of their coins the Romans depicted the goddess Aeternitas, the personification of eternity, holding in each hand the head of Sol the god of the Sun and gold and Luna the goddess of the Moon and silver. To be in harmony with humanity's ancient wisdom and with Eternity itself one must hold both.

Simply put, central banks would change the price of gold overnight. Say the FED were to do it, right now gold sits at about $42 on their balance sheet, if they were to revalue it(up) then the next day that same gold would be worth lets say $20,000. The gold itself hasn't changed, they haven't acquired more of it, it's just worth more all of the sudden according to them.

Every hard asset is going to "moon" when the currency (and related financial instruments) self-destructs. We don't know exactly when this will happen, but it will. They've done nothing whatoever to reign in the issuance of debt, but rather they just keep printing trillions more every year. It's not going to end well at all, and the only safe haven is hard assets. Silver and gold are both very good choices, and which one(s) you go with depends on your personal circumstances. There is no 100% correct answer here. We can only offer 1:100 ratio as a general guideline, but once newbies understand how things work, they can/should make their own tailored plans.

Noted, thanks fren. I'll have to check on the look of the reverse proofs but for now the regular strikes are what I'd be going for, they are quite nice.

In other news I just got off the phone with my dad and his LCS which just got a full collection of the awesome old silver commemorative half dollars in, we worked out an arrangement to trade my cheapie silver bullion for 8 of the coins today with many more awaiting accession in the very near future. In picrel i got the choice BU Texas half for $130 in trade (sells for quite more online) and all the others are different marginally lower levels of uncirculated. Maine was $85, 1926 Oregon Trail $135, and the 1920 Pilgrim Tercentenary with a superior sailship rendering on reverse just $70 in silver bullion, which I stacked at half of current spot price. Feels ridiculously good bros, WAGMI.

I also have a gold AmEx card (the metal has a nice weight), and this gets 4% back on food, so I just use this for groceries and restaurants. However, AmEx points go furthest when spent on travel, so I'm saving these for a trip somewhere. I have enough saved up for round trip airfare to Japan or somewhere now, but idk where I wanna vacation to just yet, so I'll probably just keep accruing those points for the foreseeable future.

Yeah it's easy to store and inventory rounds. It might be kind of harder with a lot of irregular bullshit like forks and things.

That's why I would look especially for trays and like candle stick holders. Because easy to polish and basically stackable.

If 925 sterling is considered junk though then I don't really know what that does to the price. But I'm guessing in antique stuff you would pay significantly more for even moderately crafted material.

But for me personally I would just see myself getting like the few items that I would actually use and see on a regular basis. But then again it depends because I don't know if you want 5,000$ worth of silver just sitting on your dresser.
