9/11 always gives me a sad feeling. When I see those towers I think of the world we used to live in. The world was full of optimism back then, and overnight it evaporated into nothing. I’ve got photos of my father when he visited New York for a work trip in the 90s with the Twin Towers in the background. America has really lost that sense of awe it used to have.
