Inflation is coming down, but it's getting sticky at about 2.7%

See: https://truflation.com/

Next CPI report on wednesday is going to be "better than expected" and market will boom a bit.

But unless housing starts coming down more, and energy, it will be one of the last few good CPI reports, inflation might skyrocket again.

Consumers know what they see. Economists "know" what they "see":

>Pack of jerky I used to buy $3 cost $9 (last week)
>Land prices 5x'd
>Housing prices (in non coastal areas) still have not corrected, and remain at 2021 peak levels
>Used cars going for as much as new
>New cars going for as much as luxury used to

Not to mention that inflation going "down" in their eyes doesn't mean it can't spike up again without warning. Their confidence makes me even more bearish, always do the opposite of what they say.

In some areas the stimmies caused inflation. I don't think anyone is surprised that when you give everyone in the country $1,000 video game consoles become scarce commodities and the guy who makes luxury purses becomes the richest man in the world. What really fucked the economy up was the lockdowns destroying supply chains. Imagine you're, say, a construction company with dozens of established vendors and half of them shutter up for a year and there are so few transportation workers/transportation equipment that it costs a fortune and months of time to get your equipment. That doesn't just go away. Recovering from that is on the same scale as industrializing an undeveloped country. It was probably the increase in aggregate demand that kept the U.S. economy from completely collapsing because there was still an incentive to engage in business even if it was hard to do so.
