This is my subjective experience, that I have noticed a marked increase in markdown in prices and/or deals, on everyday, normal items, that would previously never have been on sale in years past, items that I expected to pay full price on
when I experience this, while also reading economic reports + individual earning reports showing a surplus in inventories, it makes sense to me that it's companies marking down prices as they had too much inventory
