How the hell did 80k/yr go from being a good salary in 2016 to being shit in 2023? 80k was my starting salary back then in 2016 and I felt like I almost made it when I got the offer as a college poorfag. Now people act like it’s the bare minimum to even live.

I thought $100k per year was an insanely comfy salary when I was a high schooler in 2007. Now I make twice that and feel just secure as a single man. I know I'll feel poor once I get married and have kids. You need to make $400k a year nowadays to be equally comfy as $100k 15 years ago.
