Why are they like this?

>> No.56036354

>>56036335
because they're (hopefully) trying to fix a problem within the confines of a system that created it.

>> No.56036364

non-schizo answer is productivity collapsed because wfhers couldn't be trusted to put in more than a couple of hours a day. biggest difference between wagies and the self employed is the ability to self motivate.

No, I don't think that there is any productivity collapse.
All cases of pushing for returning to the office (that I know of) are due to CEOs/owners being assholes.
Corporations that had proper strategy to save on real estate costs are not doing it. (And they have a CEO who is not a phycho.)

>> No.56036420

>>56036384
if the drop in productivity and subsequent drop in profits is greater than the cost of the real estate then from a business perspective it's better to drag them back into the office.
that's before you consider companies that aren't purely office based and the very real anger of staff who can't wfh because those already in the comfiest jobs can sit in their pyjamas all day doing fuck all with zero commuting costs.

Imagine not understanding this lmao

The cabron reduction is nothing but an profit model.

You think billionaires actually care about the planet?

It is nothing more than a narrative designed to make you even more poor

And being in the office is all about being in control

Thats why "they are like this"

dumb retard actually thinks the whole environment or carbon narrative is because of the planet LMAO

HOW CAN YOU FUCKING IDIOTS STILL NOT SEE

I lost all hope for humanity

I am not commenting on green policies.
I am simply stating that this guy >>56036420 is wrong. Profits are not down due to any productivity collapse. Because no productivity collapse has happened. He probably hasn't held a job that could be done from a distance.

Source: Mr Shekelsteins ass.

If remote workers don't complete the tasks you set in a reasonable amount of time, fire them, simple as.

that's a fair cop, as is a sense of unfairness and tbqh jealousy that i'll admit to. but all long term studies on productivity ive seen since the wfh experiment have shown a decrease in productivity, hence back to the office at least part time.
and yea sure some of that will be ulterior interests like commercial real estate prices.

Some of them accept that the Elon dream of leaving the planet really is a dream, the problem is they don't recognize that they are the problem to begin with

Or maybe...

Maaaaaaybe... just maybe...
The people asking you to come back to work aren't the same people asking you to reduce carbon emissions.
COULD BE!
Crazy thought!

>> No.56037349

Productivity started to reflect wages again. A large majority of time spent in an office is pretending to look busy while waiting for a task to appear.

>>56036335
Green energy is a massive grift, they don't actually care about the environment, just making money off of carbon credits, windmills/solar panels and EVs powered by coal plants instead of adopting Nuclear. If they have to choose between actually reducing carbon emissions and keeping their commercial RE bags pumped they'll choose their bags every time.

With that out of the way, they want you back in the office because of commercial real estate investment + the need for power/control.
