The pottery is nice, I have about $200 of my target $500 allocation for it, but I just pick up 1-2 pieces a month from a thrift store. Dolphin was my first animal piece. I figure it's cool and well known in the area, lots of old people knew people that worked at the place when it was in operation, and there's a few estate sales etc every year or two that has some that add to the market supply. But I think it's worth hoarding a few cheap pieces now and waiting another 20-30 years. Most of them are $20-30 on ebay but over time, attrition should work in my favor

If they were SMART then they should have sold out of US treasuries when rates were LOW like during March 2020.
The Fed wanting to lower the interest rate would have had to buy up their 1-3% bonds for a premium.
Instead they held USD even as we've had massive inflation. If they could have bought $100B big macs in 2019 then that same USD would probably only get them $50-80B big macs due to inflation.
Also their bond rates are likely 0-3% given that's been our rates the last 10-20 years. Right now the Fed has short rates at 5% so they'd have to sell those bonds at a steep loss.

Real question is:

A STRIP is a bond with its payments taken out of its price. Naturally a STRIP increases in price the closer to maturity it gets as it absorbs those payments back into its price over time.
