i can only neet off this for so long. i was thinking maybe start a business because I'm scared of crypto and trading.

If I were you, I'd make an emergency fund first and foremost. In case there is some accident and you need money asap.

Then id put some of it in safe funds where it doesnt go up and down too much but enough to earn a pretty decent interest.

Invest a good portion of that money in index funds. Maybe a few stocks like Apple, Microsoft

Some of it in crypto like BTC, ETH. If youre mentally unwell, try the others.

Reddit tier opinion but it is what it is. You'll probably not end on a rope like most of /biz/

Also depending where you live, I'd get a nice newer car and do uber if I had 30k. Maybe get a cheap apartment close to a rich area and do that while you figure out your next step. I'd do that shit for the rest of my life if self-driving cars weren't on the horizon

I'm not starting a business just said if OP is confident he could do it to go for it, I'm going to go to school for Instrumentation and get in to working with PLCs, maybe in 10 years I could do a private practice.

I'm not the one to give advice man I'm a loser and I don't know you well, but think it through, at 20 with 30k you can set yourself up for life if you play your cards right. Or you could go live in some foreign country for a year, have the time of your life and squander it like I did lol.
