Certain countries are just different man. I would say its more a blessing that America is primarily car focused. I lived in korea for a year and you don't really need a car over there for example. The layout of the country is literally city, suburb, 5 minutes of countryside then repeat. Also it has a ubiquitous public transport system but that's easy when it's the size of one of our states. Cars are important to the American way of life simply because the distances are large and everything here is large
