The storage unit I used to rent did this for OPs retarded reason specifically. You couldn’t exit without entering your code. Even if the car in front of you exited and the gate was open still, their policy requires you to sit at the open gate and enter your codes. The old boomers that lived on site kept constant watch of the cameras and if you were caught not entering your code, you get a warning, if it happens again you got your shit thrown out and banned from the premises. These are storage units and don’t carry the same tenant protections that apartments do. I’m not saying it’s not a fucked up clown world we live in, but trying to sneak in and out of a storage unit is a stupid idea.
