The easiest way would just be throwing a chunk of change into a couple different brokerage accounts so it's all covered under FDIC (250k or less per account, some brokers cover up to 500k per account) and then either dividend invest and make your money that way or just park cash in your broker's money market fund. A few million making you 2.5-5% is enough for passive income and you can manage it yourself pretty easily. If you want to start getting crazier than that then yeah you absolutely need a fiduciary or licensed financial adviser and you'd probably be best served speaking to legal representation about all of this with a law firm that specializes in wealthy clients, if not multiple to see all your options.

The filing is more recent than that and if he was crafty he could've been moving shares to Lazard in a private sale such that when he was in court he had no position and it was not perjury. This is a bankruptcy turnaround, any kind of crafty shit you can think of is being done by all parties.
