im getting some hopium back in my trading career.

few times now ive gotten 12-25% moves. first one i let turn in to a slight loss. im in the second one atm.
theres been a few misfires between them but ive gotten pretty tight with stops if it doesnt go the right way.

pumpin +12% moves a few times a month seems to be possible. feels like im finally on to something that might work.
still lot of small details i need to learn and tweak. i also kinda want to play longer bigger moves but this seems to be working.

>If you concluded your divorce process on January 1, 2023, you can’t claim a tax deduction for alimony payments. Additionally, the IRS doesn’t take spousal support as income for the recipient. buying at the right time has been the biggest issue so far. i follow similar stops to many legend traders and their 1% but im closer to 4 or 5% since i can take more risk currently with small folio.
if i play shorter moves like i seem to then i just need to move my stop up to get gains. what percent do you use on trailing stops ?

on the system i chose if it breaks a 30ma or 50ma properly then thats a sell sign but those moves i haven't gotten yet.
im heavily TA based 95% so its kinda subjective but i look for areas like higher lows. sometimes i go just by feel on the chart when i buy in a riskier area. those usually get stopped pretty soon.

vwap seems to be a great tool too. its what institutions used for giving price guarantee or something. its like a hidden ma that works.

No it’s not a good thing, it means banks have a negative lending spread, which disincentives lending on many time frames and slows the economy. An inverted curve is an over heated economy trying to slow down the spigot in a free market fashion. But then it breaks anyway because eurodollar reserves n’ shadow banking economy n’ shit and the fed has to backstop the market and on and on

That's contingent on me actually getting green in the first place. For all the TA I do, whether it's supply/demand zones, fib levels, MAs, or a series of indicators, I can't seem to pick the right direction. Options are even worse.
That said, I've only recently started using trailing stops.
Normally I'd take half off the table when it wins, then set it to breakeven or slightly profitable. I just go for like 5% TS once it's moved past 1-2 ATR in a trend

would be interesting to test like after an 8% move to set a 8% trailing stop. to see how would it work.

I wouldn't advocate buying puts but selling them. You can go all the way down to a $5 strike price and still make a good profit.

I dunno, I might be a full blown retard but when every single person is buying shorts for exhorbitant premiums it makes me want to be on the selling side of that deal.

Even if the rug gets pulled, I still doubt it'll drop below $2.50.

Interesting note is the premiums are so high for selling puts that whether you sell at a high strike price or low one, the result is virtually the same. You can make so much money on premiums OTM that the price has to drop like >75% of the strike before you start losing any money.

Everyone just does Adderall now instead of coke. Much cheaper, easier to get and legal. It's a joke.

I spent fifteen minutes with a nurse practitioner (not even a doctor) and told her I had trouble sleeping of all things (considering it's amphetamine) and got a script that same day.

I don't fuck around with it much, mostly did it as a laugh to see how easily I could get it, but my brother is actually on it full steam. Funny thing is, he's constantly talking about how bad Oxycontin is/was and how the Sackler family are the devil, etc. never realizing the irony that Adderall is basically Oxycontin 2.0.

Big pharma went back to the drawing board and realized the only mistake they made with the Oxycontin hustle was that it killed its users too quickly. Adderall gets passed out like candy and is almost as addictive, but it'll just kill you slowly over like 10-20 years from heart failure and stroke instead of just OD'ing your ass within 5.

Of course I don't get addicted to these things because addiction is for weak willed faggots.

I did that shit today but got HOODed because they force a limit order and all that shit moved so quickly out of fill range I got hung and had to cancel then redo the fuckin' sell. It was my very 4th time ever doing options so I didn't know that kind of shit would happen. I lost maybe another 10 bux over that! BUT, as you say, I'd set it into my head that if it touched minus 10 bux I'd cut that motherfucker loose (wound up losing 22 on that one trade).

It’s a mindset issue. I have main character syndrome, so I seemingly can’t comprehend that taking risks means going long with retard leverage, and not trying for a *1000 tail risk blowout short on SPY. I’m like physically incapable of it, if I get a good hit on a long I’m immediately turning contrarian and questioning that if it was worth it to sell, why not just short

You can kinda practice by adding the option to your options watchlist. It will track the profit and loss as though you placed the order at the time. So, it is kinda like paper trading it, until you get a better idea of what you wanna do.

>> No.55985997

>>55985974
Yeah, I've been "paper" trading them in the Options Watchlist for months, but there you just remove from list and it's done. I flipped my thumb to sell that motherfucker and it just hung there while SPY started accelerating upwards (I had a POOTTT) and wouldn't fill. I had to cancel and do another sell to get it to go through and let me out of that TRAP (traps are gay, btw). Nothing in the paper trading it allows for simulating that aspect at all, it was a shock. I guess I will have to set my limits lower as a safety in such cases. First 3 trades didn't have any such issue.

I've done that dumb move a few times and it never works out, because the price isn't actually trending the other way and is just in a short pullback or something. Just have to move on to another ticker after you close a position, you can go back to that one after it has had time to settle on a direction.

It's worked breddy gud for me overall, as I'd just add one to my list then immediately go and watch it, see what it did right then and there. The moment you add it is like the moment of buying it and it starts real time calculating gains/losses accordingly. So, I could observe the behavior and get a very realistic idea of what to expect *in that regard*, which did in fact lead me to take really quick gains on my first two ever options trades (today, total of 4, 2 gains, 2 losses). From my observations in the sim list I knew that shit could reverse really quickly under most common circumstances, so once it hit about plus 10 and didn't seem to have strong momentum beyond it, I sold, and once the other 2 hit about minus 10 and seemed to mostly be headed that way, I cut the motherfuckers (or at least tried to in the 4th one's case). Anyway, I think I benefitted pretty greatly from just being able to use that sim list for a while, at least in terms of feeling like I had seen enough to know more or less what to expect in a general sense. Of course, this was purely 0dte goombling I was doing, so longer term "serious strategy" shit is altogether different, in many key ways. When it comes to options, I just want to goomble. When it comes to serious, longer term strategies I'm sticking to BOIL/KOLD/UNG.

It won't work. You can't pay off a credit card with another card, it has to be from a bank account. You would have to do cash advances from your credit card to your checking account first, and cash advances don't pay out cashback or points, and the interest rates are higher than for purchases.

Also... becuase I know someone will reply: you can do a balance transfer from one card to another, but that's not done by using your credit card number, it's with a check or some other wire type transfer. Yeah, I've used it for UNG some and I think it was SOXS once. It's not ideal by any stretch, compared to market hours (in terms of bid/ask, volume, movement, fractional shares, etc.) but I'd rather have another available option that I use *sometimes* when the situation calls for it than not have that option available at all.
