Every company is just trying to capture value that's already there. Our entire society became speculative. Trying to catch the raindrops of trillions of debt stacking up. Uber raised like $25 billion dollars to reinvent taxis and food delivery. They finally made a profit last quarter after 14 years. Facebook bought instagram just to copy tiktok which just copied vine. Then facebook made threads which is just a copy of Twitter which was made 17 years ago. A kid born the day Twitter was made will be able to vote in the next election. Air Bnb was supposed to be a way to rent out an extra room or couch, but it just turned into investors buying houses specifically as bed and breakfasts (Without the breakfasts). Even artificial intelligence is just a worse version of outsourced indians

The music industry has literally turned into 3-4 guys with fake names copy and pasting their own beats with whichever mixed race star is relevant at the time
>buut taylor swift
She's been making music since 2006 and she's still the #1 artist

Most of the world's problems can be solved by using stuff that has already been invented.

Where I live, traffic is a constant problem and makes life worse for everyone who drives. It's atrocious. The easy solution is to get cars off the road and build more public transportation.

But that will never happen because the government is already up to its eyeballs in debt paying pensions and nigger gibs. They can't even fix the roads we use to make the driving experience slightly less shitty. If they were to actually try to build trains and trams and bus lanes to make public transportation, it would cost countless billions of dollars ensuring every government worker and corporation is in on the take to profit off the project. There is no way it can happen because corruption means it has to be 100x more expensive than necessary.

This basically applies to everything. We can't make anything anymore because there is so much excess and waste built into the system that it makes basically any idea impossible to implement.

Long gone are the days when innovation and the desire to build a better world drove development. The only thing on anyone's mind is how he can make as much money as possible from something.

That 100% was so ridiculously vast that even 10% of it was enough to fund the basic research behind industrialization and digitization. I'm no fan of Europeans but credit where it's due: transgender medical technology, LGBTQIA+ rights, and sexual health innovations including HIV treatment and PrEP are largely due to the work of white scientists and intellectuals.
I think the next big wave of intellectual progress is going to be from the large numbers of sex, gender, and ethnic minority people who are being emancipated from oppression and receiving treatment for gender dysphoria. Their creativity and talent is already being unleashed in big ways as seen with over-representation in software, the military and high level business. The question is will their output persist in subsequent generations who don't have memories of being oppressed? I would say yes due to the unique perspectives they have, but complacency is a possibility.

Personally I believe that innovation and technology are stagnating for a couple of reasons.

1. The population is more elderly. America and other first world countries have old populations. Old people don't want to innovate or make new things because they are set in their ways. In America the last two presidents have been very elderly.
2. The economy is not as good as it was in the second half of the 20th century. Technology doesn't just come out of nowhere. You have to have an economy to support it. You don't see a lot of tech innovation in someplace like Russia where everyone is poor, for instance.
3. The internet gives people unlimited access to the past. I think that having constant access to old media can stagnate people's minds in a way.
4. Academia is formatted poorly. In order to get publishing and funding, you need other people to cite your work and discuss you. If you write something totally new, nobody is going to cite you because it's irrelevant. In academia it pays to be part of the circlejerk and be part of the discussion. Ask anyone in academia.

I think its because societal conditions changed sometime around the 70s and we don't have things aligned right to make moves, ignoring biological problems of dieting and health of the 21st century.

>60s rockets
You had 1930s and ww2 ex farmers that grew up playing around mechanic shit and really knew mechanics
>chemistry in the 18th century
you had a relative time of peace where old experiments and past knowledge could be studied further and a big spark in religion debate with the protestant movement challenged how people discussed language around bible passages and its relation to realities

I think we enter a multicentury dark age where people rediscover old knowledge and study how things are made with simpler tools while leveraging private blockchain technology like monero to create secret groups to protect themselves from a world of chaos hostility then the 20th century as a large central government fades away. Maybe a world of private servers and information hoarding meets more human to human interaction in a counter offensive against a central government forcing people into larger echochambers like facebook or twitter as these big echochambers are their last attempts at keeping people at large united under their platforms. I could see big fractures on 4chan where people splinter off from boards and form even more niche communities outside 4chan boards.

I also believe a lot of technology we've seen this century that surfaced to the public were encouraged by the government even the government not really knowing the technology but they themselves having some faith that said technology could "unite" people and keep the illusion of nation around as in their power goes to zero when there is no myth of unity as a country. It didn't matter if facebook was advertised by zuch or the iphone by steve jobs. It was the perception that some major online platform could get everyone together in one place and be happy to use it together and it has some america story to its founding. I mean we did see a big crack in social unity around 2011 with occupy and facebook started to get very big and isolate a lot of people off the platform, young college age left for older baby boomers, now facebook is targeted towards third world countries. I see the vision pro as some kind of attempt at bringing that magic back, it isolates people but its some big unifying culture moment ritual for big business/government, problem is it will never ever be affordable on a scale of the iphone was so its cultural ritual will probably wind up failing and the central government will face its first failed mass ritual when the state needs these rituals to maintain its power.

Actually it used one kind of fuel that was made of two corrosive components (T-stoff/Z-stoff/C-stoff) - and also they spontaneously combust upon mixing and needed to be kept in separate tank.
You might be surprised to find that pioneering inventions are often unrefined and fatally flawed. If not for the nazis experiments with Z-stoff and T-stoff, we might not have modern high performance jets.

honestly i wonder if the welfare rates conning the system don't have the right idea. its no longer possible to be a bit above average, work hard, and have a nice life. I have a "good job" my wife has a "good job" we both make 6 figures (barely) and theres no way in fuck we can afford a house. sUsTaInAbL3 surely? there used to be a line of 100 people, numbers 20 to 90 lived an upper middle class life, numbers 90 to 99 lived an upper class life and 100 was very rich. now numbers 0 to 50 are indebted, numbers 50 to 90 struggle to even make rent, 90 to 99 are middle class and 100 has 500x the money of the other 99 combined. 400 richest people control more than 1/3rd of global wealth. 3. Government and Fed step in to bail out cronies with inflationary policies
4. Anyone not a crony or asset owner suffers
5. Repeat until the 99% are impoverished

And nobody fucking cares until their children are in poverty. And some generations Gen X and Boomers don't care about their children AT ALL because they think their cronyism was meritocracy instead of being in the right place at the right time.

Crypto should never be compliant. It is a trap. The entire motivation for crypto is that the existing financial system is basically nothing more than an arm of the government. They can shut you down wherever, whenever, and it is the reason why so many businesses are so cucked because they bow to the banks who bows to the government. I just opened a business bank account, made my first transaction, and IMMEDIATELY get an email from compliance asking all sorts of questions treating me like I'm a criminal. I calmly (and politely) provide the appropriate documentation and they go away, with nothing more than "Thank you for the information. Have a nice day." It is a total power play. The moment crypto becomes compliant it is over, the spirit of having a free system not under their control is done.

Either it was fought to determine more optimal and efficient/egalitarian forms of government or it was fought to determine more efficient usage of resources (geopolitical), both reasons are valid and bring humanity forward.

>there used to be a line of 100 people, numbers 20 to 90 lived an upper middle class life, numbers 90 to 99 lived an upper class life and 100 was very rich.
i dont disagree with your general sentiment but there was no time in america or in the world where this was even approximately close to true, are you out of your mind?
i swear people see some advertisements targeting upper middle class people from 1958-1962 and think every single person in america was like that, a union UAW Ford auto plant shift manager in the wealthy detroit suburbs making the modern equivalent of 200K a year on a single income with cheap prices yet modern amenities
things have definitely regressed in some important ways (housing costs, medical costs, debts through student loans and credit cards, stagnating income growth since the early 80's), but you if you really believe that you do not know the facts of how poor most people were in this country even in the mid-20th century.
in 1900 the average american made $438 a year which was a whopping 12,000 today. and everything was relatively more expensive. people spent 40% of their take-home income on food just to survive.
in 1950 1 in 5 americans lived in straight poverty. not poor, poverty. much of the south didnt even have indoor plumbing. electrification of towns was brand new.
even in my parents generation (they are in their 70s) eating normal cuts of chicken or beef at supper was a luxury. they ate awful cuts of meat and lived in a cramped house. owning 2 cars was absolutely out of the question.
in many ways we are much much much better off than our parents / grandparents, in general jobs pay better and things overall are cheaper. its just we have a fucked up retarded government squandering a lot of the gains we have made and really fucked up housing and medical.

>And nobody fucking cares until their children are in poverty.
Hahahahha it's so true. This is so visible in Canada. For decades people have been yelling up and down to stop flooding it with undesirable mystery meat because they were suppressing their wages and taking the jobs they were formerly able to make a living from except now for cut rate (probably illegal) wages.
Nobody cared of course. It only affected the people towards the bottom of the ladder, and the average Canadian is a total piece of shit which if they looked up empathy in the dictionary I think they would immediately burst into flames.
Now that every white boomer is seeing their kid show up at McJob for the interview in a suit only to be met with 400 illiterate Indians living 40 to a house willing to work for $5/hour, now they're mad. Too fucking late, too fucking bad. Fuck you.

All the structures and most of the chemistry that are required to leave the earth and terraform planets already exist. The number of 'useful' shapes at the macromolecular scale is finite, and the number of meaningful ways to connect these shapes is also very limited and we've long been exploring these tractable domains .

Innovation still occurs, but at a molecular level where brainlets can't into 'progress' because it requires reading figures instead of watching a demonstration. Stuff like LK-99, Small Modular Nuclear Reactors, Starship, Generative AI, etc, are being created today... but the innovations are inside the systems and the speed/efficiency/flexibility/reliability of their function as opposed to the obvious function themselves.

The bubonic plague.
So i guess we are at the time where bureacracy and structures in general are too rigid, people can't breath fresh air. A cleansing fire would allow for a fresh start but i dont know if that will ever happen or if things go on until everything suffocates and you end up in dystopia where people live in tiny cells and eat shit with zero quality of life.

Technology has actually been suppressed and stifled since the 1880s. The earliest culprit is the oil/energy industry. Then, the healthcare industry started doing it in the 30s. The reason that you're only noticing it now is because it has literally gotten so bad. People have lost their connection to nature and spirituality and are starting to see that all of this redundant technology is actually making them miserable and sick. Its not a bad thing. Its more like a period of enlightenment.

This. Nikola Tesla had a working model for zero-point energy near the end of his life, but this was right around the time the oil industry started taking off, so this knowledge was suppressed. His protege was murdered by the US government for trying to continue his research. Tesla's mathematical models were memory-holed in favor of (((einsteinian))) physics, which provides no utility and is a circular-logic, pilpul way of describing electromagnetism.
