How old is too late to start a band and turn it into a full-time thing? (Considering you already know your instrument, have been in bands, have songs, etc)

Your chances of making it big in music industry are less than 1%

I don’t know your age, but you should look amazing, as normies who listen to mainstream music will give you attention only if you are god looking.

Lol this. Older twink boys are starting to use performance enhancement drugs (HRT)

There is nothing stopping you from breaking into any career at any age but corporate merica is harder to break into if you're like 50, but starting a band will always have a lower barrier to entry.

Plus there are literally 80 year olds who were popular in the 1960s who are still making music, so if you're angsty because you're 35 or whatever you just have to remember in 50 years no one is going to say "he's too old" they're going to say "kill whitey".

There is no too late, there's just points in your life when it's way easier to find other musicians willing to actually dedicate the time and effort it requires to get an actual band going which these days is getting even harder because it's an absolute nightmare finding skilled musicians with a solid understanding of wtf they're doing who want to actually make original music and not just covers of gay pop punk and avenged sevenfold songs.

Is it even possible to break into "corporate merica" without having to push a pozzed message every day and making pop trap? I was thinking about just making money streaming live concerts and doing youtube bullshit and merch for the hypothetical next band. tours are pretty much a liability now

This. That's what I'm worried about, cause I need to find these other people or else this will just be an expensive and lonely hobby

You're thinking too far ahead. If you want to get established as a musician you need to focus on getting as much content out as you can right now and building some sort of following, that's what is going to open doors. Don't be a narcissiist perfectionist about it either, just find something you can produce a lot of at passable quality and then abuse the fuck out of SEO algos so people find it when looking for playlists.

I know working musicians who play shows and travel on the circuits. They aren't pop stars or rock stars making millions, but they are earning a living. If you're fine with that then do it. If by chance you happen to hit it big then more power to you.

Solid advice, thanks. I don't have a full band at the moment, so I guess the "following" would be overlapping the following that like guitar/music channels have? Or by gaming the SEO do you mean like pushing out as many solo small tracks as possible?

You need to find whatever tags your target audience would be searching that aren't heavily used. There are websites specifically for this. You mostly want to figure out how people are finding music similar to yours and once you crack it then the recommendation algos will start working for you.

Also post your stuff to groups and pages designed for showcasing amateur music and if people respond positively, invite them to follow you on whatever social media you are using for promotion. I have found a lot of really cool obscure musicians this way.

depends what you mean by "full time thing"...you can play backup for a variety of touring bands. But the only way to make money if you are super famous is touring 24/7 so hit the road or its not gonna happen. By the way buy $cock on ethereum its tokenized cockfighting.

Considering that most people in bands work unrelated day jobs, never. I guess it depends on the music you want to play too. If you're NW5 and look 40 you probably shouldn't be making music targeted towards young kids. Happiness is rare to find in this modern nightmare world though so if it makes you happy I say do it, so long as its the actual act of making music that gives you joy and not the recognition.

Okay I think I got it. I'm kind of retarded but here's what I retained
Focus on right now:
>Narrow down my specific target audience (find a similar channel's audience and test out g less saturated keywords/searches using SEO tools)
>Showcase skills in vids, provide some value, and don't be a perfectionist
>Churn out newer videos to further adjust them to target audience
>Post on other platforms for attention and collaboration (bandcamp/x)
Focus later:
>Release final tracks as IRL band matures, send audience over to the songs / livestreams
>Adjust image further to extend to band's audience
