I stack because the vast majority of humanity's purchasing power is tied up in a broken financial system. An ungodly amount of purchasing power is tied up in overleveraged assets such as stocks, bonds and insurance and the banking system is dangerously overleveraged and backed by collateral whose value is also leveraged higher than it should be.
This equates to a massive shortfall of real value and everyone is pretending that these toxic IOUs are actually valued at par when there is not a chance in hell we can make good on all of the loans and portfolios owned by everyone. The banking system is now in the ponzi stage where they are more interested in managing your drawdowns than actually being sustainable. I want valuable assets outside of the banking system. If I could buy commodities such as gasoline and reliably store it in my garage I would buy it. However spoilage is a real concern for long term value storage. Metals are extremely valuable to humanity and require a massive investment of energy and manpower to acquire. I own PMs because the value is safe and has no counterparty risk. As the ponzi nature reveals itself, a massive run to QUALITY assets will unfold in my opinion and it will be like a game of musical chairs. We will be slowly simmered in stagflation until it cannot be hidden anymore. It could take another ten years for all I know. What I do know is I do not need to be worried about whatever calamity is headed our way because when the pieces fall I will already be in the right spot to survive and even thrive.

I buy platinum because it's more rare than gold or silver, even without the manipulating

I buy platinum because it's used in chemotherapy and the number of users who will need that is going to go up indefinitely

I buy platinum because it's used more and more each year in jewelry. China is the largest market for platinum jewelry.

When you play video games and are trying to get trophies, is gold the top tier? Anyone holding gold and silver should also have a few ounces of platinum too. Even if it's just for speculation.

Anyway, i don't think this is something you should be worried about., as these coins have no value over spot anyway, nor will they likely have any in the future.
If you want to insist you could call them and ask to get a replacement, say it's supposed to be a present or something.

A nice Serif would suit this coin very well. You could look into something like Larken, but a taller font like ITC's Garamond would look good too. Alternatively if you want to keep up with the teutonic cross, you could use a Fraktur font! That might be quite neat !

Well, I'm happy to be your font autismo. If you want to have me on hand, my protonmail is ashcheckem@protonmail.com
I used to work in a classic hand-set typesetting print shop, where every letter of every word had to be set by hand before anything was printed, and I was one of the design/font guys on the team - love fonts simple as.
If you wanted something old looking but still easily readable, you could look into Rotundas or other blackletter script typeface fonts. The Rotunda is the most legible to more modern eyes, but most fonts from that era developed from the Carolingian Miniscule font, which is a beautiful font that is mostly hand-written. It's the font that Tolkien mimicked in his handwriting, so if you've ever admired his writing on maps etc., you've admired Carolingian Miniscule!

I never even check the price of gold and silver. not really. every now and then I'll gloss over it in between checking the prices of stocks, but I really couldn't care less what gold and silver are doing.

I saw some imbecile on twitter crying his actual eyes out last week "sub 1900 gold incoming. uh. im gonna die. I cant take it anymore." and I was just flabbergasted anyone would give a shit. I woke up the other day to find I'd made another £1000 overnight on my small Nvidia holding and I sold 75% of my position for a hefty profit. could not care less about the gold and silver price. might buy a few more sovereigns with my stock market winnings.

That's annoying. Did you pick it up at your branch or order online? If its the former its imperative you look over the coin before walking out and or paying for it. I have never personally had an issue with TD, online, or through my branch. My LCS had some Asahi rose compass silver coins and when they handed them to me I almost forgot my golden rule to look them over before paying/leaving. After closer inspection there was a few milk spots on three of the coins. I had them swapped out and left with more pristine looking ozs. If you bought it online you're kinda at the mercy of the customer service agent but I feel like you would be SOL if you wanted it swapped. If you are buying in person, always inspect the coin.

Also font-wise:
MOST FONTS ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR CAPSLOCK
Most fonts (almost 99% of them!!) are designed for you to have both upper and lower case characters on anything you're printing or engraving.
Fun fact: the terms "upper case" and "lower case" came from the fact that old printers and typesitters would literally just keep the capital letters on the higher-up cases of letters, and the small letters on the cases below them.

If people want to measure the kind of scale we're at in terms of the ponzi economics we're running, at this point if in the 1960's 1/10 depositors running to the bank would sink this whole thing, then today the number is closer to 1/1000, at a minimum

None, even though i myself often pose myself as a bullish herald of Pt ITT. Problem is i have PTSD from attempts at purchasing the thing on ebay the only times i tried to. Twice.
I won absurdly low auctions with zero bids but myself. I.e. at starting price, which were around $400 and 500 respectively (to attract the buyers/bidders i guess).

Ofc i never received the thing, the sellers claimed to have "lost it" or "sold it to a neighbor the day prior but forgot to cancel the announce". And i didn't even bother raging at them, i'd have done the exact same thing. Choice is easy between getting a single mediocre review or losing half a grand.
But it made me fear for the potential liquidity. It's clear that literally NOBODY is interested in acquiring plat over here at least. And for what i've checked, the stores are using it to their advantage by massacring the buyback offers.

I love Pt as a metal and potential spec, but i hate the market conditions surrounding it. Not enough liquidity. At least with Ag and Au, you know the demand is always there and always strong.

Seems like it. Here we are too far gone, even cash is almost entirely gone now. Everybody pays with their contactless CCs. Banks and the government pretend they need to know everything about our every step to make shit more secure, but they enabled and pushed for the most insanely easy to trick payment system.
It's millions of cases of scams every year since this shit have been adopted. You have scammers going in crowded spaces like the subway or the mall, simply armed with a card reading terminal, and every CC they come close to get debited.
And they aren't too greedy, they charge like 5 bux, with a seemingly innocent/very common name, like idk "bakery of the center". People don't even notice, and even if they do, they wont bother fighting for weeks with the bank over a 5€ payback. It's too much efforts.

Being a thief never have been this easy, you simply have to walk with a tiny machine in your bag and rub elbows. Meanwhile, we aren't allowed to buy anything over 500€ in cash, because it could "finance terrorism"... Fucking joke of a (((society))).

So the Perth Mint primarily sells its minted Platinum abroad, and it's selling so much of it that the elevates the Mint to be one of Australia's largest exporters.

ah. yeah i figured there were good reasons.
many good reasons. not to mention that, on some level, you're competing with larger established vendors who are able to sell certain types of existing bullion/coin for comparatively way lower premiums.
so i guess it would really be taking a gamble on how many /pmg/-themed-coin enthusiasts would patronize your business and for how long.

id guess you'd be looking at an investment into the 10s of thousands of dollars? to establish a stock of coins to have to sell?

I think most of us would be able to acquire financing for such a business venture. but would it pay off. probably depends largely on who is doi8ng it and how well it is marketed and executed

i have been very interested and happy to see your achievements and successes and the community support for it here. a mutual shared hobby interest being realized.
it all activates my imagination on what similar things you could do to grow or branch off of what you have done so far.

maybe this is a naive though i have. but i cant help thinking one could buy a heavy duty machine press of some kind, and stamp/mint/press your own coins. even if it is crude and mostly manually operated by hand. if it could remove $30 worth of cost per coin by having them minted by an outside source, it could pay off.

The press is only one part of it, the die making and engraving process would be the hardest part to replicate and I don't know what I don't know about the difficulties involved with it. Sure eventually you could get costs down by bringing that all in house, but that would also mean a facility and overhead. Maybe I can leverage this in to a nice house with a workshop.

What I'd really like to do is go a completely different route if we're doing our own press, and that would be to replicate a historical screw driven one that was driven by two people. Make it a nonprofit historical educational thing

So developing a new technology is a grift? Toyota hardly needs to engage in scams to make money, but they are heavily into hydrogen cars. And, by the way, battery cars started out as a meme too, remember? I do. And they are still outnumbered on the road ten to one or more.

But time will tell. I'm not emotionally engaged in the debate one way or the other.

I can tell you are republican by not thinking. You have not thought about trucks, ships or planes, that don't have the option to run on batteries.
A hydrogen tank can allow you to bring lemons from Cosenza, Sicily to Hammerfest, Norway in one go.
Regular cars are fine with a range of less than 200km. Trucks, trains, ships, planes and buses aren't.
And i didn't even mention the chemical industry that needs a replacement for natgas. Or the metal industry that needs a replacement for coal.

Case in point. Republicans don't think. They confuse feeling with thinking all the time.
The current price for 100km hydrogen in the EU is 10€. 300miles are a bit less than 500km, so we have below 50€ for 300m. That is barely more than E10/95oct.

And that is without scale.

The lack of paid IQDELET shills in this thread combined with the recent pump this week is extremely concerning to me.
I feel as if the bullion banks are going to long silver very soon. It would be stupid of them not to. There's already evidence of banks cashing in their short positions. We won't win until they get the cake first, then we will get our slice and eat it.

Once again it is proven that republicans can't think, only feel, so they confuse one with the other.
How much will a battery cost that drives a truck from Cosenza, Sicily to Hammerfest, Norway in one go?

Once again you can't comprehend what scale means. It means: either it gets pricey (a battery with such a large capacity costs a lot more than a battery in a car we have today) or things get cheaper (once hydrogen is produced at large scale the prices per kg will fall sharply).
Today 100km driving costs 5€ with electricity, 10€ with hydrogen. How much will it be in 30 years when hydrocarbon cars don't get produced nor sold? When trucks, trains, ships and planes use hydrogen? When the infrastructure is build and amortized?

Think, McFly. Think.

>>55947885
Granted, that works in dense areas and is probably cheaper than hydrogen, even at scale.

It was $16/kg in 2019. I was talking to a friend recently and I guess its up to $30/kg here in CA but everything is fucking expensive here.
>300 miles
More like 230-250 sadly.

I did the calculation when I had a mirai and it was cheaper to drive my f450. But this goes back to what I said about technology, the light duty vehicles were designed as h2 vehicles first and foremost and they should have been designed as ev's with range extensors.
