$6.49 bacon cheese burger then —> $12.89 now

Official inflation numbers $6.49 in 2011 —> $8.82 in 2023

Really makes you think

I can't go to five guys now without spending $20. It has by far the most ridiculous greedflation of all the slop restaurants I've been to, ever.

> Single cheeseburger with jalapenos - over $10 WTF
> Small cajun fries - several bucks AAAAAAAA
> Drink few bucks eh pretty normal
> Total: over $20 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Chipotle is not as bad but still above official inflation numbers, $9.35 for the same thing now. According to official inflation the $5.35 chicken burrito should be $7.91

Chipotle is actually pretty reasonable still. You can get out of there for less than $10 no problem. Be really polite and decent to the wagies and they are instructed to not ring you up for the guac. I only eat out for lunch maybe once or twice a month, usually its Chipotle.

Anyways, its a total losing proposition this shit. Cars and dining out have stayed stubbornly "inflated" despite rate hikes that ostensibly make inflation impossible. How has this persisted? I don't think its inflation, I think its greed. They've realized their consumers are mostly addicts who will pay anything to keep eating that shit goyslop. They look at how people will spend $30 to have food delivered and think
>well if they're that fucking lazy we can probably charge them $20-25 to eat it in store
and they're right!

Not even defending bidenomics but the rates hikes have at least stopped the rise of housing costs and I'm actually spending less at the grocery store now than I was this time last year. Its not necessarily inflation that's led to these prices going up 3x or 4x since the aughts.

I still go but instead of once a month I go like once every 6 months now, if that. I’m not even poor, could easily afford it every week if I wanted but fuck paying those inflated prices

Also I cut out the daily Starbucks and do it once every week or three. Also never go to those places that use the stupid square pay app with the tip prompt for getting takeout food

With you anon. I am trying to get my overall dining out spending below $1000 yearly, but its actually kind of stubborn at just over that point because I travel a ton for work (pilot) and my girlfriend likes a nice dinner out every so often.

To think there are people who eat out every day. Sometimes twice a day. Whew lad.

For chips an bottle of water maybe.
In ct, you cant get any burrito or bowl with meat in it for less than 16 bucks.

You can easily cook your own burrito or burrito for less than $10. I get why someone would dine at these restaurants if they're short on time. But going out to eat every day or more than a couple times a week is just retarded to pay these outrageous prices.

I had a burger from here once and it was somehow the greasiest thing I’ve ever eaten while being almost completely flavorless. Wouldn’t eat there if you paid me to. Not with Culvers, Portillos or even McDonalds around. It’s utter trash.

Unemployment does the same thing. If unemployment was defined and calculated in a fair way, the unemployment rate would be like 40% easily and probably significantly higher than that. So it would be demonstrated that the Fed is failing its inflation mandate and failing its employment mandate. The situation is far worse than people realize because not only is the actual situation for the average person on the street way worse than is being portrayed, you also have this "meta issue" of the Fed and ruling structures in place opting to deceive rather than actually fix anything most likely because they can't fix anything or don't believe there is anything to fix which means we're all being corralled by entities and institutions that are downright Satanic, not in a religious sense, but rather in the sense that they are completely devoid and opposed to what most would consider to be Western values of ethics, justice, etc. This would all suggest the war has already started.

SC here, my chicken chipotle bowl is just under $10 with no queso/guacamole. I go there a lot and am polite to the wagies so they are generous with portions and usually don't charge me for a side tortilla. FYI all ingredients except for meat/queso/guac are free. A chicken bowl with double rice/beans/whatever else is basically two meals for 10 dollars, which is good.

Really depends on where you are I guess. Chicken burrito is $8.45 for me. Actually I can select a different Chiptole just a few miles down the road and they charge $8.20 for the exact same thing. So varies locally too, I thought all Chipotle were corporate owned but I guess there's still some variance in the prices.
