>Price of crude oil going up slowly
>Companies that makes bandages are going up slowly
>China's Evergrande just filed for bankruptcy
>U.S., South Korea, and Japan Summit
>NVDA Rallying 300% in 9 months, despite sanctions on China, preventing them to buy any of the advanced AI chips earlier this year.
>Semiconductor companies have a 27.4% exposure to China's economic decline, NVDA having 45%.
>Top institutional shareholders for NVDA have suffered losses from Evergrande's collapse.
>Same top institutional shareholders for NVDA have losses in the past Quarter YTD that they need to make up for the rest of the year.
>MAJORITY of the news, articles, and publications are still BULLISH on NVDA, even increasing the rating for the company and its price target.
>Same top institutional shareholders for NVDA OWNS these journalists who published these information.
My conclusion is:
>NVDA Institutional bagholders who bought at the top and are at a loss are desperately trying to do everything they can to shill NVDA as a buy so they can dump their bags on some dumb fuck willing to buy the top. With China and EU in recession, who will keep on buying this stock?
>China has all their reason to wage war because of the sanctions stunning their economic growth. Price of bandages and oil to mobilize a huge fleet of military vehicles are slowly creeping up again, same thing happened when Russia invaded Ukraine.
>Whether or not NVDA pumps or dumps after the earnings, the institutional bagholders are still suffering significant losses later this year, and they wont be making up for their margins to cover their debt and opex, which they will either have to refinance at the same, or higher interest rates if NVDA earnings makes the stock pump any higher.
I believe this is the top boys, and we're in for a long ride to the bottom. Keep in mind that Bear market rally lasted for 10 months last year. Did I miss anything?

The 10 year has reached 4.25, same as back in October 2022. Why isn't DXY back at 113, same as October 2022? What other factors influence the correlation?

In pic rel the US is in the lead for rates. Only the UK is close to closing the gap. GBP only makes up 12% of DXY, this alone can't explain it.

I think you're right. I have a humanities degree and work in data analytics rn so at the moment, my upward mobility is limited since I neither have a strong technical background nor do I have a business background. But if I get an MBA as you say, it "looks good" since I'd have an MBA combined with data science technical skills and experience and it could help me avoid soul crushing burnout as a wagie in the future.

As for looking into what the Big 4 / Big 3 (MBB) consulting firms do, that would be nice but I feel like working for a Big 4 firm would be very brutal for Work Life Balance. When you say an MBA helps you "get it", are you talking about understanding the nuances of business consulting and how businesses are actually structured?

The entirety of their unconscious and conscious minds. But due to the unconscious' ability to dictate all actions, it could be said to be more widely influential. Dreams are simply a gateway into your unconscious. Only by conditioning your mind to have dreams that somewhat influenced by your conscious mind can you start building the dream that you want. Furthermore, if you apply this to the market, you can theoretically generate a vibrational energy to have influence on the market beyond what some petty TA will get you.

Furthermore indices have made it such that large-cap stocks will be bid up by autobuys regardless of their quality. I'd much rather take the opposite trade but even then, options are rigged by market nerds who spend thousands of man hours and quadrillions of CPU cycles trying to correctly price in popular theses. To beat the options guys you have to bet on unexpected (even/especially by financial media) events which just circles back around to story-based thesis.

>>55893216
Wrong, a vanishingly small number of companies are responsible for the majority of gains on indices. And while "obvious" in retrospect this often ignores defunct or marginalized competitors. For every IBM there is a Burroughs. For every Ford there is a Studebaker. For every Apple there is a Motorola. You are merely gambling if you try to pick the long-term winner in a sector either new or established.

I am aware that's what you are proposing. I disagree with your premise NVDA *stock price* will outperform its peers in a timeframe that will be relevant for resonable option premiums. Rather, due to extreme AI hype, I suspect it is one of the most overvalued stocks in its peer group in the 3-5 year timeframe.

But as to pair trading overall, yeah it could maybe amplify your thesis to hedge out overall movement of the sector but you are paying a premium to options nerds for that so your thesis better be pretty schizo so they sell the relevant options to you for cheap.

Selling/writing options strikes me as only worth it for the big guys. It's picking up pennies in front of a steamroller and if your wrong you either lost everything (selling puts) or missed out on huge gains (selling calls). Meanwhile with buying options, yeah most of the time your contract will expire worthless, but if you win you win you can 10x, 100x your initial investment.

With regards to NVDA. If I were to do anything with options with that stock it would be put options for sure. But I'm not really an options guy.

The best day to day market analysis available on YouTube is probably FX Evolution
https://www.youtube.com/@fxevolutionvideo
One of the few traders who doesn't let bias get in the way of the videos, very technical based - if you don't trade with ~1/3 of your calculus based upon TA you won't like his videos as much; very good seasonality and statistic breakdowns
Has no bullish / bearish bias, truly is a trader that reacts not predicts, whereas every other YouTuber practically is a predictor only
For news coverage, especially international stories that you may have missed, Steve Van Metre is actually very based, with that said, know these things
>he relies on gimmicky thumb nails to draw in viewers
>he can over emphasize or over exaggerate the importance of different news
>he shills his own stock tool that he is selling in his videos [however, the tool is actually a good one / not a total scam - not worth the $$$ per month though!]
If you can overlook these 3 things, and use your own brain to analyze things, it's a good channel - half the time I just skip around the video to see the articles that he is covering, look up the articles on bloomberg / WSJ/ reuters (use archive.is to circumvent any paywall) then read the article that Steve is covering myself - I want to emphasize again that I do not agree with everything Van Metre says, and he is a bit of a fearmongerer, but the articles that he covers in his show are all good reads, and articles/news you should be aware of - don't rely on Steve's interpretation of things whatsoever
One of the best channels for interviews and talking to knowledgable people about markets is
https://www.youtube.com/@TheCompoundNews
I honestly don't really respect the hosts opinions that much, as they are very "public" and basically are just reflecting the opinions that other people have said in recent times, but the people they interview are often very, very knowledgeable and worth listening to

Although I am not invested in ARKK, or any of the companies that Cathie Wood is invested in (as far as I know, knock on wood)
the updates that they put out are actually pretty decent, looking at economic data, reporting how they are viewing the economy and markets
With that said, it's Cathie Wood, so it's of course always extremely bullish / tinted toward the bull case, and overlooking the bear case - so you should listen to it not because "OMG CATHIE WOOD SO WISE!!" but so that you know what the "other side" is thinking and saying
https://www.youtube.com/@ARKInvest2015
Along the same vein, if Wood is the bull channel, you should also watch a bear channel - imo the best bear channel out there is Maverick
https://www.youtube.com/@TheMaverickofWallStreet
>inb4 triggered soiboys freak out over the Maverick link
I want to emphasize very strongly, do not just blindly listen to Maverick, think for yourself, read the articles that he covers on your own, analyze markets yourself. He is 100% a "predictor" (compared to FX evolution, who is a reactor)
Don't fall for the trap of listening to predictors - nobody knows what will happen next, and anyone acting like they do is lying to you.
With all this said, Maverick is probably the best bear youtuber out there - I think it's important in order to be well rounded in your knowledge and understanding to also listen to the bear case, even if you disagree with it
I think that Everything Money
https://www.youtube.com/@EverythingMoney
is one of the best channels for individual stock analysis; 99% of the time I'm not even considering buying the stock that they are covering and analyzing, however, the information they cover can be helpful, where you understand what the real underlying story is behind the company (and thus the sector)'s moves - eg. that Disney margins are getting completely squashed; that if Disney were to return to margins before covid, they would be extremely undervalued

I would recommend also to subscribe to Mohammad El-Erian's newsletter and reading everything that he puts out - even if you personally disagree with his views, the market very much respects what he has to say (compared to the other hacks like Summers lol)
with that said, El-Erian can often be used as a voice to try and get markets to calm - where "they" know that if they can get El-Erian on camera to say something bullish, that markets will freak out a little less. So don't take everything he says as gospel
If you're a day trader, unironically this channel
https://www.youtube.com/@HumbledTraderOfficial
is decent [you have to keep in mind that the best day traders in the world are making so much money that they aren't going to waste their time making YouTube videos lol - you take what you can get!]
If you can get over your bias toward women, HumbledTrader offers decent insights, especially for a new trader - if you're very experienced already, I would skip this channel entirely
I would also just recommend finding people whose opinion you respect and trust, and doing searches for podcasts where they are a guest.
For example, I respect the opinion of Mike Wilson, so I will search for interviews with him, such as:
https://youtu.be/VDyryUc7Vlg
(this was a very good one)

P.s. if it doesn't happen, it's Trump's fault, here's why:

USfriends can you help me understand how the SGOV ETF works? I am a Canadian with a bunch of USD in a trading account. I have been putting some of it into VTI (started DCAing recently) but I don't feel good about the market right now. So I want to sit out for awhile... but I don't want my money to sit around doing nothing . Since I'm not a US citizen or resident, I have limited access to US financial instruments and no access to HYSA/HISA in the US. I get USD as compensation from work (stocks).

I want to put it in a clsoe to zero risk investment through my brokerage until I feel better about just moving more and more of it over into VTI or do whatever with it. Is SGOV ok for that? Its just short term US govt bonds right?
