I'm trying to come up with a side business and here's what I'm toying with: I buy a van like picrel. All I do is drive between New York and California and bulk ship a niche product directly from the producers in California to businesses in New York that sell said product. (Use your imagination.)

At the start I could only do limited runs. But if this generates any income I could hire a few drivers and make this a full-time thing.

Why I am retarded?

A good point. There'd need to be something to sell to people in California.

I'd have a spare.

Cargo vans usually aren’t meant for such long routes. You could do it, but they’re usually reserved for specialized local stuff like medical equipment to hospitals & doctors and food shit to local restaurants. Why would someone pay you to move their shit in a van over a semi truck? It is doable though, I’m a cdl driver and it’s the same vein of work, but like I said cargo van shit tends to be more specialized

Maybe I'm thinking too big. It might be better to just ship a product from a closer location. And yes the idea would be to ship a niche product that's sold directly to the retailer of this product. A semi would be ridiculous overkill.

Don’t get me wrong, if you have a customer and a shipper lined up and it makes sense go for it. Direct shipper contracts will always be more lucrative than shopping around for freight on load boards. I’m not saying that it’s impossible to do, just that’s not the way people would conventionally use cargo vans.

fuck that. rent the van or lease one. then you can always have new equipment. from CA to NY that's some serious miles. you could easily clock over 100k miles in a few months.

A lucrative side hustle especially in countries where the cost of gas is not so high. Plunge into ride-sharing service which I'm registering for and get a rented holoride retrofit device for €29/month for a start then I secure it. Everything to give my backseat passengers comfort in the ride.

Because they're under the legal weight limit to report your hours. You can pay a beaner to drive 20 hours straight and it's not illegal (but the beaner probably is).

I mean idk dude seems like a side hustle that would require a ton of time from you in the beginning. Junk hauling would work better doing on weekends, you can usually make like 150-250 per job with 2-3 jobs a day, and the dump fees are not much. Bulk trash pickup business also rape people with prices Got Junk? Is gouging so badly you will definitely find work. Requires a truck though, I tried renting myself but there’s so many Mexicans in my area that all rental vehicles are booked constantly.

Also if you own your own property you can very easily resell the stuff you collect. a lot of the stuff I resell are perfectly fine household appliances or furniture.

you are retarded because what thing would possibly need to be shipped directly from CA to NY....via some dude in a VAN?? Why would you not just pay for next day air, it would get there even FASTER and not bouncing around in some stoners van? Literally the only thing that comes to mind that would need to be transported from CA to NY via stonermobile is illegal immigrants, and there actually may be a viable business plan for that. good luck anon.

no need for expedite vans, the market is covered.

just get your CDL and work your way into being an O/O. deal with the regs, they aren't that onerous and now basically everyone is playing by the same rules so you don't have to compete with meth addicts running 3 paper logs anymore.
