Dear diary,Today wasn’t really a good day. I turned $400 in to $900 on a shitcoin over night, but my stocks have been dumping for two weeks and I don’t know what to do with my cash.Burrdawg bought millions in puts as he stared at me smugly with his Illuminati eye. Last time he was wrong (he did apologize, which was nice), but this time he was right.I just feel like I’m never going to really get anywhere with this investing thing. I always sell too early. The things I hold like ETFs are still up 69%, but there’s no thrill in that. It’s just a slow climb toward eventual monotony. *sigh* Someday I’ll make it, diary. But today.. today was just another day. Yours truly,Nigger Faggot

>>55859700Your therapist is shit then and I've told you that before but a few months back you said something I don't recall that convinced me you should still go to them. I now question that once again. I think you should tell them that it is a very dangerous line of thinking and no human whatsoever can weigh/judge such a thing. The principle error of all humans is to either over or under value a given thing. This includes the "value stack" (the arrangement of all of these evaluated things into priorities relative to each other). So, no matter what answer you come up with, overwhelming odds are it will be wrong relative to ultimate truth, and likely the best you can hope for is to hit on something that is considered to be in agreement with "human consensus" which is...look around...fuckin' retarded. Think about Zen in this regard. What the fuck kind of shit is that, for a therapist to put you to thinking about "deserving" things (good/bad/whatever). They must have learned that shit in therapist school!
>>55859700>Well my therapist wants me to answer the question of what do I think I deserve.Oh god...
>>55859631Will the 10 year break 4.3 today?
>>55859728Yeah, sounds like completele bullshit. It's about selfvalue and selflove or something. You don't really deserve anything for just being. You may deserve something for deeds and acts. But the question is probably what he deserves for NOTHING, for just existing. And from this the therapist tries to understand your perception of your own selfworth and then evaluate if you are a narcassist and whatever else there is
>>55859735more importantly, the 2yr breaking 5% today or notit's been pinned right below 5% for several days - a lot of resistance, buyers coming in for those 5% yields
>>55859700Plain and simply: you deserve nothing. Nobody does. The world has billions of agents acting in their own interest. It can be cooperative or competitive, but ultimately what you get from it is only limited by what you take from it. If you want wealth, happiness, and success, you have to acquire it yourself. Besides that, life itself only has the value you give it, but you only have one life to enjoy.
>>55859746Wgy does it matter if 2Y breaks 5% yesterday, today, or tomorrow? Any situation when it does is not great.
Finally, an organic non-GMO /smg/ thread
>>55859728>>55859743No, the task said I could include reasons or rationales, like... for example:>"I deserve to retire comfortably because I saved money when I was young."or>"I deserve a well paying job because I went to school to learn a skill."But yeah, I'm more of this belief >>55859757 in that I don't think I deserve anything specifically. I guess I could say I deserve to have bad things happen to me (like losing $30k options gambling last year), which is probably true, because I'm an idiot... but I don't think that's what she wants to hear.
>>55859743Perhaps they are going somewhere worthwhile with it, I just think it's very dangerous, both ways. Your bent tends to be towards the negative (don't deserve anything or deserve bad things), which is bullshit, and others tend to think they deserve "too much". At any rate, please never forget what I have told you before about discovering positive thought patterns that you can repeat to yourself in order to displace the negative and effectively "reprogram" yourself in a willed, controlled manner. Essentially you're removing the ability of negative repeaters you carry around every day to keep their roots in the soil of your mind, and you intentionally replace them with shit that is beneficial Obviously, choose very carefully, and refine it as you go, but "just about anything" can be better than some types of things. Tell yourself better shit, man.
Home depot wagie here, I might short retail stocks for a while. Some kid came in for a job interview and told me something rather intriguing; His previous workplace Walmart laid off ALL of the minor(under 18) employees that worked there. Literally the whole distract where I live at let go a shitload of kids recently.Take that what you will, but if fucking Walmart can't afford to keep kids around...or maybe its just school time bullshit.

>>55859780Walmart wagie here (our ER comes out tomorrow!)Big corporations aren't stupid. Anyone who's been around long enough knows that business goes in cycles and wall street demands constant growth. Walmart's entire business model is doing an economy of scale and minimizing costs. There's been a large emphasis on our managers about reducing controllable expenses. Theft is a concern and definitely been on the rise, but most of the costs for us comes in two places: employee wages and compliance costs (not reporting accdients, time lost fines, etc)We get most of our revenue during Q4, which is winter time. We have like 6 seasons at our store (which often means a busy month and then a quiet month or two). Christmas, March Break, Easter, Mother's Day (flowers), Back To School, Thanksgiving, Halloween. Anyways, later summer and early autumn is not a busy time for us. They cut back. I average 28 hours a week, and we went to a new work structure recently. This was a pretext to cut hours across the board, but good wagies got to keep their hours. Younger workers don't know the business flows and fuck around and aren't productive. If you're in a cost-cutting environment, you don't give them more hours than you have to.Pic related, it's my "sheriff star" (as my compliance manager called it) that I won a few weeks ago for being a good wagie
>>55859813Those documentaries make the pits look comfy. Bunch of madlads smoking cigs and stogies all congregating over a common passion, all hating on the same brokers and exchange wagies. Seems like it was a great time to be alive
>>55859813>arbitragingYou're also forgetting the part where people would literally try and frontrun by cutting the line to fill their order first.Or how a hedge fund would place a large order, then call their buddies and be like "HEY DID YOU SEE THE HUGE VOLUME ON X SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING" then they fuck them over

>>55859809kid told he was 16 years old, but yeah what he said was sketchy. Might still keep an eye on Walmart stocks anyway, who knows.
>>55859778>>55859787Yeah, I don't know why I think so lowly of myself. Maybe because I don't feel like I have much control or agency in my own life. Investing my own money directly (instead of just dumping it into Vanguard funds, like I"d been doing) gave me some control... and lol turns out I'm retarded>>55859789I'm not concerned about losing $30k on options. The actual total losses across all counts was over $100k, but that doesn't really affect me. I've since made back about $63k by going big on tech.
>>55859828That’s the shit though. I read a book one time about how Indian wealth managers refused to move to electronic market making for the longest time because it meant they couldn’t misquote prices anymore and collect a spread.
>>55859822Interesting, strange that Home Depot kept the minors around yet Walmart doesn't.
>>55859843Because Nazism and communityism is true economy.Society is a collective soul of all utmost potential. Truer wealth.
>>55859680I wish they would buy out monster and put synthetic coke in it
>>55859849Well, this ain't exactly the best times in the markets, but also don't be afraid to trade in much smaller amounts, just do it for your own self, not to impress anyone with the numbers and all that. Just trade in small amounts because you enjoy trading, no other reason. That way you'll limit your losses and over time you'll not only discover new aspects of trading psychology that you'd previously be blind to, but you'll get better.
>>55859859We still have them, but obviously the hours go towards highest productivity staff. Its a numbers game. Not a manager so dont quote me, but I think our weekly budget from HO depends on how many staff we have employed, eg if more people are hired we get a slightly higher weekly wage budget, which may or may not go towards those hires.

>>55859882Not sure. Our store manages to be one of the top 3 in our region (of like 14 stores). It feels like we have a skeleton crew and some weeks, the warehouse gets fucking bogged with freight, which is more demoralizing than being bad. There seems tovbe pricing strategies to entice spending, like clearances on more items and for longer, and promoting the every day low price shit for essentialsI know our store does manage to beat HO's metrics for revenue by about 2%, but I cant imagine the other stores are as well. Also possible that they keep targets low just so we can exceed them. Really, winter is the quarter that matters the most.Other ERs seemed good this season, and talks of inflation stayed high. I can see it going either way, with cost cutting strategies being a talking point. Self checkouts might get removed.Oh and food inflation. Some stuff like coffee or honey, we retail big cans of it for $21 and $16 respectively ... we profit like $0.40 on it, its a way to get people in the store

>>55859963>60k$70k, turned a +$10k month into a -$60k month in one shot. 98% win rate. But I get feeling zesty about 1 day a month/quarter and wipe out everything I made trying to buy my way out of a $1k - $2k loss. Net worth $1.8M at the top. Now it's closer to $1.4M.
>>55859963In hindsight, I wish I could have spent that money i blew on a cool Louie V truck purse
>>55859993What are you trading thats so consistent? Some kind of safe option spread that heems you when it fails?Im only 60k myself and just manage to lose money, $100 here, $250 there, bad options play, it all adds up

>>55859897There's a few workers under 18 and still go to high school. They've been here at my store for the last few months, mostly cashiers and lot(pushing heavy shit around all day).T. Nevada HD wagie
>>55860012I don't do spreads, it's a scam to get another $0.65 per contract out of you. You are either right on direction or you are not. And I give myself a buffer of how many times Im willing to buy more to find out if I'm right or not. And I take my gains at the first sight of them, so I usually miss out on the huge moves because I will take my profit when they are shaking people out before the 2nd leg up or down. I'm not gonna fuck around and find out. Whenever I take a big loss like the $70k heem it's because I ignore that buffer and go beyond my self imposed limit and just let greed and anger and the "fuck it yolo" mentality cause me to do stupid shit like risking 50% of my portfolio and then taking a 10% loss on it when I come to my senses and realize I need to GTFO and preserve my capital. Literally a 98% win rate over 200 trades since mid June, but 1 had heem has me deep red and will take me months of good trading to get out of that hole now. And now because of that hole I don't want to take the small loss when I have to. When you are right 98% of the time you don't want to admit you are wrong or stick to your risk management strategy when you have the capital to keep fucking around with. It's a nasty viscous cycle that I am trying to break. I feel like all I need is more human interaction to keep me humble and in check. But thus is the nature of trading. Currently looking for a job just to do other shit for a while. Trading will always be there if I want it to be. But I would have made so much more money just letting my black rock Jew buy and hold diversified etfs. But I fired him and went MM funds instead and have slowly chopped my accounts down like a real bobo
>>55860085Aint reading all that shit bro. Just going to trust that your 98% winrate is bullshit or you wouldn't be down 400k. Best of luck though.
>>55860012>What are you trading thats so consistent? Also I trade SPY and QQQ short dated options like a high frequency algo, except I'm the human algo. Which I guess works until the human breaks the rules. I'm not sure if I'm disciplined enough to not break my risk management rules. Like I said I feel like all I need is to be around a group of guys and have some human interaction and that would keep me from a lot of the stupid shit that I do when I'm all by myself for months at a time without any interaction with others. But idk if I'll ever get that with how my life has turned out. So I'm currently looking for other shit to do besides trading because truth be told I don't really need to do it if I don't want to. And I've pressed a lot of buttons and subjected myself to a lot of unnecessary stress to not beat the buy and hold mumus. Does feel nice to know I could make money on red days, but not enough to overcome my own stupidity
>>55860085It soinds like youre only trading delta... spreads are more if youre trading IV or hedging risk from selling theta. Though I agree, directional is probably the simplest way to do it.But having a 98% win rate over that many directional trades? That sounds loke a statistical impossibility. If you were writing OTM straddles or something, sure
>>55860108>>55860105Oh I see. Im usually on the daily charts on my trades, and for options Im usually 30-45 dte. Need to trade more liquid tickers instead of memeshit, the bid/ask and liquidity is atrocious here
>>55860096Networth is not winrate or trading gains. His networth could have become less because his stocks/portfolio went down and he didn't sell.
Yields rising really fast tonight. 2 year finally over 5%. What will be the first thing to break?
>>55860096>your 98% winrate is bullshitIt's not, I can send you my excel file with all my trades. But the truth is you can still be a losing trader with a 98% win rate. But it has nothing to do with the strategy itself. It has to do with being able to not break hard rules when there is nothing stopping you other than you. Day in day out. Every single day. Idk if I have that discipline. I have it 89 out of 90 days, but that's not enough. You gotta have it every day
>>55859879Dunno
>>55859743It's about selfworth. I deserve a job I enjoy, the love I recieve from others, a nice home environment, respect yada yada yada. Most homeless people on skid row would answer that they deserve nothing, even if you gave them 1 million dollars they would spend it quickly and go back to being homeless. Because they don't believe they deserve a job, a home or love or anything. This is usually due to shitty life syndrome.

>>55860108>It soinds like youre only trading deltaSort of, I basically just use options to avoid the T+2 settlement time on trading long shares and can get that sweet sweet leverage profit while only risking $7k on a play. And really my risk should be about 50% of that $7k because I'm supposed to cut out and take the L when my alloted capital is fully deployed and it's down 50%. But that's when I get zesty sometimes and will instead keep buying because a) I can afford to at the moment and b) because I've done it before and it's worked out many times. But that's just me being a greedy, lustful, prideful faggot and not looking at my strategy as a series of trades
>>55860122Ive watched enough trading psych shit to know what youre talking about. It is hard, I keep makong fomo trades and dumb shit. I try not to make the same mistake twice. If you have a winning streak, why try other things? Move $50k or whatever out of the account to keep safe in another account, or have a single account with like $10k for fucking around with, writing trades down physically and coming back an hour later, following a strict routine, that sort of thing.

And then I make a determination on which MAs are next to get tested, and I place my bet and I'll exit when it's green, even if it doesn't actually go and touch the MA line I thought it would, if it gets close enough and I'm green, then I'm out. >>55860285Barriers have less volume than normal options no? Seems more likely to get fucked over.Options are a form of leverage, which means you can potentially have more trades on the go at a time (provided you risk your positions properly)You can also play time, direction, and demand
>>55860191Thanks for the suggestion, will check it out
>>55859700>my therapistYou’re already lost
Y’all gotta start smoking pot and investing in the truest wealths
>>55860295>You’re already lostThis. Anon has been had.
>>55860290Avoiding losses in the long run is what matters, though. Youll still win and lose some. What you dont want to do is cut your winners and hold your losers, that shifts the P&L bell curve into the red.Are you able to do that? Tweak it so you have a bracket on your open position so you can TP at a 1-2% win, but leave a trailing stop so you can caopture those 5- 10, 20% runs.
>>55860293Volume doesn't matter. I make or lose money when the underlying moves. 1 pip DAX gives me 1 Euro for 1 position. It's 1:1 trading on the underlying, no greeks what not added.Pretty simple if not the simplest thing. It has overnight costs. But currently I get money for shorting, so I'm winning either way. I get about 20% interest on the capital I use, lol. So it's better than putting it in a bank. I just don't have to be too greedy and risk getting liquidated. But in the defense of options. I don't have a broker that is specified for options. IG has options but I have the feeling the spread is too large and thus not worth it for me. Too high risk to lose and not worth the effort of thinking it through.
>>55860310I do have an FX account that lets me trade CFDs on international stuff (200x metals!) but I havent really gotten into it yet. Ive heemed myself badly enough on regular shit
>>55860281>you just need to actually do itThat's why I think if i had anyone else to chat with during the trading day I wouldn't do the yolo stuff that I do because I wouldn't want to look like a retard in front of them. I have no problem being a retard when it's just me by myself. I know the 1% rule, it's just when the time comes to actually limit myself to that I just don't do it, even though I know i should, because now i habe imperical data proving my 98% win rate. There is just a lot of stress in becoming the human algo. Hopping in and out of the market as many times a day as I do sometimes, over time the stress builds up, especially when on a win steak. >>55860285The volume is the appeal. The sheer number of contracts trading per day. There's nothing else like it. Especially when you win. Feels good
>>55860322If you are US CFD are a high risk right? In the EU you trade CFD on margin, like it's used to, but you cannot get into the negative as a private person. The max you can lose is the money you put into the account, no debt. This is probably the reason why US laugh at CFD. For us in the EU it's not that dangerous.
>>55860339Not sure havent traded. Im in Canada, but I understand the US cant do metals on leverage due to 2010 regulations. Unless they get an offshore broker
>>55860300>Avoiding losses in the long run is what matters, thoughThis is correct. The only reason why I lose $70k in one play is because I'm trying to protect a losing position when I'm reality the $2k loss I'm trying to avoid is totally within my strategy and would be fine and actually the correct move to realize the loss and protect the rest of my month's gains. It's not a decision I have to make very often with my high win rate but I have made it multiple times in the past. It's just 1 day a quarter that I don't and then I'm giga heemed. It's just very tough to have that discipline every single time without exception. It wouldn't be that hard if I had other human interaction, but without that interaction, all it takes is one zesty thought and that's it, your heemed.

Also ,these fuckin news are so retarded. DAX being pressured because of rate uncertainty. wtf does that mean? DAX crashing several % because of maybe another 25 bps hike? bullbros...............................are we losing?!
>>55860440What'cha saying bro? The FED protocol yesterday was more hawkish than anticipated. The ECB also has another hike ready to go. Heh, the hikes don't really matter. What matters it the market sentiment and right now there is a general sell-off mood. Most companies have debt secured in bonds/loans that are maturing 10 years from now, utterly un-affected by the rate hikes. Not sure how it is here in the EU though where short-term loans are generally more preferred

>>55860458>55860458I thought it was more dovish. As they sounded unsure if to hike further because of economic uncertainty.ECB will probably hike but not 100%.
