Why pick a fuckin meme stock and risk losing so much money on something that unlike indices hasn't a somewhat "natural" "bull-bear fight". I've followed/read/watched enough value investors to know that when you see short positions in their portfolio/recommendations, just ignore that shit.
There are some actual gems in his new positions, but everyone gets caught up on the "1.6 bil short position". Whether it's some autistic urge to always hedge long exposure, or he actually sees something spooky in some data he read.. either way, such vague information about him buying some puts at some strike and some point in time is pretty useless.

My guess is that they're long duration, deep OTM puts bought to take advantage of the cheap vol two months ago.
Maybe it'll pay off for him at some point, but we don't have the same liquidity constraints so even if the market does start dumping we can just play by ear and flip short overnight in our own 5, 6, or 7 fig ports.

It tracks the underlying daily. So SPY goes down 1% then UPRO goes down 3% or so. Long term you have volatility drag vs. compound growth. Basically volatility is bad. Limit sells for around 60, 70, 80, and a dollar. If it hits around there like it did in the earlier part of the yr. I'll be happy with just that really. Stop losses are important here for sure. Given the fact redditors caught late on when it has made 60-100% of the gains.
But I think there's a good chance for it to keep going beyond August. Even if dumps to 30s or stays in 30-40 cent range. I have a strong belief we will see a dollar... Almost everyday it's pretty much opened at decent price and closed. They did not regain compliance for no raisins, anons.
Basically my exit strat is holding some til later this yr and selling for some profit here n there. ;^)
