They set the bar low on last earnings, so did AAP - now all they have to do is "return to baseline" to facilitate even a marginal recovery bounce. Especially with DG I look at it like a WMT trade during 2022 - initial panic sell on bad guidance which WMT easily beats and revises on the next quarter, causing a quick recovery. That's the idea at least. What's the risk? Well the risk is that DG or AAP actually are going to shit as companies and they will never recover. But what's the probability? I think it's quite low compared to them simply having reported the occasional bad quarter. Maybe they report another bad quarter, back to back. That's why my position is mostly shares. I'm completely fine "bagholding" fucking dollar general, maybe not so much AAP so that position is considerably smaller.
