I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, partnerships, CyberCode, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like CyberCode 2.0, if the CyberCode 2.0 had more value over traditional CyberCode. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of CyberCode 2.0 than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their CyberCode through version 2.0.

Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional CyberCode devs. But actual companies, businesses, CyberCode devs, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable CyberCode in a version of CyberCode called 2.0, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have CyberCode 1.0 devs and providers we trust.

'But CyberCode 2.0 is version 2.0!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is CyberCode 2.0, they want something CyberCode 1.0. 'But the CyberCode 2.0 system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your CyberCode? If companies only trust devs with high CyberCode 2.0, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have CyberCode 1.0, but in real life not on a CyberCode 2.0 screen.

The fact is, CyberCode 2.0 is going to share the same fate as CyberCode 1.0 will. A lot of 'real world CyberCode' hype, with a lot of 'CyberCode world application' reality. Only, this CyberCode 2.0 isn't going to come close to the 1.0 that Cybercude hit.

Bunch of 4channers tried to force it as /ourcoin/, during the presale ico phase of chainlink there was a minimum requirement of 300eth to enter the presale. Bunch of anons pooled up together and shared presale links to fill them with their eth.

Coin continued to get shilled and pumped up and hyped for the sibios event that link was attended, whole event turned out to be a flop chainlink had a presentation in a room of like 18 people next to the public toilets, literally no news or partnership came from the event and the coin dumped back to below ico prices and created 1000's of bagholder anons.

Now during this alt bull run lots of anons and took advantage of this and shilling this coin to all the new money and newfags that joined in december and don't know this story.

The coin is HEAVILY manipulated and the supply is dried up from huge whales who accumulated below ICO price to create a artificially lower supply (a lot like REQ) and these people have so much room to dump on all of you faggots to still be in profit when the time comes.

In regards to actual project that chainlink aiming to achieve it's nothing more than a basic json parser for smart contracts, would take like a day to add to ethereum by itself.. literally making links whole concept pointless and definitely no need for a token. Would take a lot longer to get it working with bitcoin but the bitcoin core devs would be able to work out the solution a lot quicker than chainlink will, think that's something worth noting that literally nothing is completed and you're literally just buying a whitepaper, they have only 2 developers and they don't communicate at all with no proven background on either, in fact sergey was involved in a project before chainlink called NxT that he since been abandoned until it was took over by a new developer team

Many people thought $1,000 per link was just a joke. Many people think wrong every day. Many people know Link will be bigger than ETH or BTC. Many people will get very wealthy by holding Link and not selling in the $100-$300 range and just holding until $1,000. Many people thought ETH topped out at $20. Many people held ETH longer and sold for thousands each. Many people do not know how Link will bring real world use to the blockchain. Link is the biggest crypto and many people still do not know about it. Good luck to everyone that has put in the research to give confidence in holding Link long term.

I know I am seeing a lot of back-and-forth on this topic, but I really need to push back and raise some red flags here. Having a decentralized oracle network is foundational to our ability to drive efficiencies in a corporate landscape. It's in our DNA. Sure, there is no one size fits all or silver bullet. Ethernet is only keeping us at a 30,000-foot-view of things. Being Chainlink'd, however, allows us to get better Cross-chain use, find better directional-indicators or loop back and dive deep into some critical issues on a go-forward basis.

I think if you all start spending more time researching LINK again, you'll find yourself trending toward the positive, but you'll have to keep an eye on the puck. Gut through it, reduce thrash, and let's stay in lock-step on this. Yes, we will Interoperate! I think given that we've been shitposting for so long it's easy to forget the benefits of decentralized oracle networks

What's the root cause of the hatred of Chainlink? Putting my layman's hat on and guess that it comes from memes such as Pepe the frog and Link Marine fudders. But we all know that these are just memes, and real discussion allows us to touch base in a much more efficient manner.

I have to time-box this comment, as I have a hard-stop in a moment when I will have to jump onto a call. So, just one more point that I want to cover-off on: let's socialize the idea of having more Oracle networks and loop back to see whether we're being more secure. From a integration standpoint, I think that we can get the partnerships to do it.

So, net/net, ignore the naysayers, sidebar the fudders that are stuck in Bulgaria, and don't waste LINK on folks that don't align strongly with this Network. Try it out, and we'll have another touch point in a little while to see if we've moved the needle. Remember, our north star hasn't changed. We're still championing our core values of creating a more fair, more decentralized world.

It's more of an echo chamber inside of a large bubble. Anytime chainlink integrates with something in the concrete world, all the outside sees is a swarm of racist frog profiles; along with weird, creepy and blasphemous memes. This does more damage than one might think.

That's a personal question that mostly depends on your financial goals and patience. Chainlink does have a good foundation, but it will likely take years to reach a fraction of the communities insane price targets.

Not necessarily. Chainlink has a high likelihood of falling victim to the first mover disadvantage.

First mover disadvantage is due to them investing a high amount of capital to shift businesses over to using a new product. Because of this, a competitor can invest capital into developing a better product instead of luring in new users. For example, Facebook vs MySpace.

In reality, businesses are typically unloyal and go with the best or cheapest option. You can even see various business turning their backs on chainlink while being funded by them. Will the overall industry stay loyal? Unlikely, but only time will tell.
