the weird part is, i'd say 97-99% of the time it's uncomfortable/painful (loud tinnitus that suddenly starts or stops, sometimes just in one ear, that makes me tired or unable to focus, other times it keeps me awake even though i'm tired)

but a few times, it's been super helpful. i almost feel like it's some kind of deep-brain stimulation technology. each time this has happened (about 5 times maybe) it starts by making me very relaxed, like i'm laying down on an operating table and have been sedated, and then i feel a kind of tickling inside my brain, especially the frontal part. this goes on for a few minutes usually and i have the sensation that they're rewiring things in there, or connecting severed connections or something. and the next day i'll have more energy, or suddenly my horrible writer's block will temporarily lift, or i'll be able to motivate myself to finish every item on my to-do list, and answer all my emails and exercise, etc, when normally doing all those things in a day out of the question because i'm so brain-fucked at this point.
